For the 1st time in 30 years, the PFA Footballer of the Year and PFA Young Footballer of the Year has gone to a single player: Cristiano Ronaldo. 2nd and 3rd places in the Footballer of the Year were Drogba and Scholes, and for the Young Player, it was Fabregas and Lennon.
More astonishing though is the FA Premier League Team of the Year:
Edwin van der Sar, Gary Neville, Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Cristiano Ronaldo (all Man Utd) and Steven Gerrard (Liverpool); Didier Drogba (Chelsea) and Dimitar Berbatov (Tottenham)
Perhaps the Team should be renamed to the FA Premier Manchester United Team of the Year?
Additionally, Sir Alex Ferguson won a PFA Special Merit award. All-in-all, it's a been quite a night for Man Utd and their supporters.

Almost seems a bit too much. Although it's been quite a season for United. Now if only they can salvage some silverwear from it.
As for Ronaldo, I think he deserves at least one of the titles. (Not sure if he's the only person worthy of both titles, but there we are.) He's had a massive impact on the team this year, and it's good to know he's scheduled to stay for another 5 years. I only hope his diving reflex disappears entirely in the future, and that the hype and drama around the person settles down.
The team of the year is quite something. Almost a tad predictable, but I never would have thought 8 of 11 would be United players. Strikes me as a bit odd that the team in the lead of the Premiership has 8 players on the team of the year, while current runners up Chelsea, only 4 points behind, just have 1 name on the list.
Chelsea have conceded less goals than United through the season too, so you'd think at least one of their back four players would be listed...
Anyway, a good night for Fergie and his men.

Ronaldo was a dead cert for both awards, would have been suprising if he didn't win it. He deserves it, there aren't many players who play the game like he does, or should we say there aren't many players who can play like he does even if they wanted to.

He should get another award... 'Going down like a pornstar' award. He has made a meal of the smallest challenges almost every game. There is no denying that he is a good player, but he cheats. Diving is very un-sportsmanlike, He pretty much tries to get players sent off... cheating scum
