For those of you that were interested in the topic I started about the girl I met, but then got interested in her rommate, well, here goes.
So on Thursday night, I get over to their place around 8:30 in the evening. They are both just curled up on the couch watching the MTV music awards.
Now first of all, THAT was torture for me. I don't think I've liked a single thing that was on MTV since about 1987 or so. And I sure as hell can't stand the "winners". Fortunately, the two of them spent most of that time offering critiques to the music and what everyone was wearing (this drove me NUTS...until I started piping in my own critiques.)
I asked either of them if they wanted to get something to eat, and they said no.
So then the three of us started talking. I diverted most of my attention to the roommate. After all, that was the real reason I was there. A couple of times, I caught a few glimpses of Christine out of the corner of my eye. She just appeared to sit there seething. But she interjected her $.02 into the conversation a few times.
Somehow the discussion wandered into the arena of sex. Now to me, discussing sex in front of two women, one of which I totally have the hots for, is something that makes me very uncomfortable. I don't know why, it just does. So anyway, I went on to explain that most of the time, my sex life has been pretty bland. I used the following analogy:
Imagine someone carrying a big beef bone. Then they see a dog in a yard behind the chain link fence. That person goes up to the fence and holds the bone out. The dog can see the bone. The dog can smell the bone. But the dog isn't going to get the bone. That is because the person holding the bone is saying to the dog "nyah-nyah-nyah...loooky what I got....and you ain't getting it". And then takes off. The dog is then left feeling bummed. Salivating, hungry, and left empty.
Well, in my case, women represent the person holding the bone. The bone represents sex. And I am the dog behind the fence.
After I explained this to them, both of them had one word for a reply:
I swore up and down and I was telling the truth. Although I was very adamant about it, I don't think I changed to their position more than thinking I'm lying to at least casting some doubt in their mind.
So anyway, we just sat there, just chatting. Again, I kept my attention split about 70/30, in favor of the roommate.
Then, that movie "The Beach" came on.
I had never seen it. We watched it from beginning to end, me and the roommate exchanging a few comments here and there.
Then, after "The Beach" was over, they put some dating and sex show on. I don't remember the name of it. I think it was "Dismissed", or something like that. It is where two of one gender, and one of another go on a date together. The two have to try and impress the one, and at the end of the night, one of them gets "the shaft". BORING!!!!!!
Then, the roommate tried to put on a sex TV show. Televised porno, with friggin' commentary.
I think she was trying to tell me something. Either she knew it made me uncomfortable, and was trying to send me a subtle hint to make myself scarce (by walking over to ONT, 1 mile away, and hop on the next plane to anywhere) or she was trying to get me to "confront" this issue that I really didn't care to discuss in front of her. One or the other.
Finally, when it was over, the rommmate went upstairs to bed. Now I don't know if that was because she was tired, or because she wanted to leave me and Christine alone. I never bothered to find out cuz I left soon after.
So I didn't get "any", which is a good news/bad news thing. The bad news being that, well, I didn't score.
The good news is (and we had discussed this) is that these two ladies are not a couple of tramps.
So I called Christine yesterday, and asked her if she wanted to do anything (tomorrow) tonight (Saturday)
I said maybe the three of us can go out to Dave and Busters or see the dirt bike event at Edison Field.
"What do you mean the three of us"? was her first response.
I tried to cover this one up by saying "Well I don't want your roommate to be left alone on saturday night. I thougt we could all have a good time together".
I could tell she was less than amused with that comment, and said "Well you and her did seem to get along awfully well last night. Maybe just the two of you should go out."
Now she said that in a rather jeerish voice, like she was being a smartass, or bitter or something.
But the point is, that I now seem to have the green light to pursue the roommate. Besides, I can always tell her, "Look...you saw for yourself. I connect better with your roommate than I do with you. Sorry, but I don't think it's workiing out between us."
Now only if the roommate is interested. But that will be a post for another day.
