Yeah, it doesn't really get more disturbing than that.
Is it just me, or is 25 years a little lenient for this guy? Not only raping a nine-year-old kid, but getting her pregnant and telling her not to tell anyone? Absolutely sick.

No its just not you, the thought that this guy will be out again looking for little girls at the maximum twenty-one years is not a pleasant thought. The only way a sex offender like this is cured is when he/she dies.

From what I've heard about prison life, I doubt the guy will make it out alive. Child molesters are considered the lowest of the low in there, and are treated accordingly.

Ok, I know the baby was given up for adoption, BUT What about the fact she will ALWAYS know she is a MOTHER?
Yes what this dumbassed guy did was infinately more horrible then the father's lapse of judgment in that statment. But STILL worrying about stretch marks that will fade and a scar that will likely be covered by pubic hair??? That's just effing dumb.

While true, and I don't know a thing about the South Carolina Department of Corrections, but here in Arizona, the DOC has a special yard just for sex offenders to protect them from the other inmates.

That should not be allowed, they should be sent out with everyone else. Hopefully "Bubba" would take care of them.

Ironically I heard on the news today that two local teenagers (19 & 14) raped a 5 year old girl where I live. Their father was also arrested for not registering as a sex offender.
These pieces of shit need to be locked away for a long time.

is right, then yes, it's too lenient. Anyways, giving him a longer sentence doesn't mean he can't get up close and personal with some of his cellmates.

Having worked in the correctional environment myself, I can say with up most confidence that child molesters are persona non grata with Inmates, even the most cold blooded killers. No question about it, he is a marked man. His only hope of surviving his sentence is being placed in protective custody. But even that isn't a guarantee.

Sadly it runs in the boys family then.
The question is, how did the 26 year old meet the then 8 year old in the first place, and be able to keep in contact with her for over a year, was he a family friend, family member, school teacher?

Hmmm, this case is not the only one. A children's book author was asked by a 10 year old to autograph her forehead, and he said he would do it if she stood on the table and stripped naked. Now he says it was a joke and the quote was taken out of context. The article doesn't have a quote from him saying what the actual context was.
What kind of joke is that? I was almost tempted to start a "Dumb Joke Thread".

A stepfather, the ordinary case in incestuous relations. It's not uncommon for a 9-year old to be sexually mature these days.
The statement of the father of the girl seemed bizarre to me. Were any stretch marks really the sad point here? (And the rest of the people faultless in their apperance?)

Unfortunately. People like these shouldn't be protected. If he's attacked by a fellow inmate, too damn bad, shouldn't have molested kids in the first place.

So the guy is killed in prison..at what cost..the police still have to conduct a murder investigation..the prosecuting attorney files charges..the family of the "victim" sues and collects, all I see is extra $$$$, keep the guy in protective custody or whatever..
