You have no clue how happy I was to see this. Maybe Hollywood can get its act together when we see now that the justice system will do something about them.

Actually California has a law which makes it illegal to profit from your crimes. It's known as "The Son of Sam Law". It was created because David Berkowitz who carried out The Son of Sam Killings wrote a book and made a bundle, and they didn't want it to happen again. It applies in NY, CA, and some other states. Recently OJ Simpson tried to make money off a movie which was about "If" he did it, and the family of Nicole Brown either planned to sue, or sued him for any profit made off of it.

She could just give them away for free.

Maybe if they have her do some work in there, something good could come from her. Oh, what am I thinking?! That'll never happen.

Her DUI, compounded by her ignoring follow up court instructions has led her to a very different hotel, one with iron bars, no room service, minus stars food and sparse accomidations. I hope that her penalty for her disrespect for the law is like that given to 'normal' people and serves to let her know that she is not above the law.

According to the judge, she must go to jail on June 5 and she will be allowed no work release, no furloughs, no use of an alternative jail and no electronic monitoring in lieu of jail

basically she's going to county lockup and she can't get out of it.

And this is no appealable.

How does this law work? Since OJ was found not guilty of the murders, if he wrote a book regarding them, he would be profiting of a crime but one that he did not commit. If that's the case what about other people who write books about crimes or make TV shows that create profit? Just out of curiosity because I've never heard of this before.

Seems most high-profile criminals profit from their crimes in some way or another.
