PanAm747: Who is that?

My congressional representative is Stephen Lynch (D-South Boston), a representative from the 9th District of Massachusetts. He was elected to office after he won a special election that was held after the revered member of congress Mr. John J. Moakley (D-South Boston) died of incurable cancer on 31 May 2001.

Tom Lantos
(D) CA, 12 District.

He's OK, a little on the conservative side but he'll pass. He is a holocaust survivor and is one of the eldest members of Congress.
I just don't like his Middle-Eastern voting record.

Sherrod Brown is a good man, but far from liberal.

Greg Ganske, representing the 4th District of Iowa.

........As a plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Des Moines, Ganske helped farmers with severe hand injuries, women with cancer, crime victims with traumatic injuries, and children with birth defects. Ganske operated a solo medical practice for ten years in Des Moines, was a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves Medical Corps and continues to manage his 160-acre farm.......

He will have my vote for the U.S. Senate this fall. Of course he's a Republican.

Yep!
I like Ron Paul too! He used to be a Libertarian. I can respect those who are genuine in there beliefs. He is one of the few members of congress that didn't feel that the 9/11 attacks were a reason to chip away at our freedoms and liberties.

I am aware of Alcee Hastings past. Many politicians have a spotty past. But, it's in the past.  Smile

Hey, I picked a pretty colorfull bunch from the House! Big grin

Hey Zach, isn't Patty Murry just doing a wonderful job?!  Laugh out loud

Anyway, my rep is Anna Eshoo (D), CA 14th District. She's been in office since 1992, and it seems she hasn't had much difficulty in retaining that seat.

I met Rep. Eshoo once, and was favorably impressed by her straightforward, no-nonsense attitude. I also wrote to her office once, and received a reasonably prompt and thoughtful response.

She seems to devote a good amount of attention to issues such as health care and the environment, and yet doesn't neglect the corporate side of Silicon Valley.

Superfly, you forgot Bobby L. Rush, IL (D)

From his website biography:

In an effort to secure basic civil and human rights for African-Americans, women and others, he was a member of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) from 1966 to 1968 and a co-founder of the Illinois Black Panther Party in 1968.  Big thumbs up

BTW, My Representative is Jerry Weller, IL (R). I just found out today. I always thought it was either William Lipinski or Jesse Jackson, Jr. Embarrassment Big grin

Well finally, something we agree on. Ron Paul is one of my favorites... I even used him in an editorial I had to write on the freedoms that Congress were trying to take away after the attack.

"What country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance?" --Thomas Jefferson

>His name is Adam Smith and he's a lefty?? Whatever next...

LOL... yes, he's a lefty. Oh well, with the new Congressional redistricting, I don't think I will be in his district come Jan. 1, 2003.
