I have created a new website, and would like your advice on advertising. I've used the usual suspects like Adwords and Adbrite and none seem to have had an impact, is there any advice you could give me as to what websites to use?

Give us a link to your website first. Anyway, one of the most important things you need to know is who you're advertising to. Then you can directly target your audience.

From what I can see on your website (www.letsfindaflight.com) there isn't enough interaction. Honestly, when you go to a travel website you're always going to be hammered with the same message "cheap flights to here" and it is not very original. Instead of only using the specific airlines search that you have on your website, use an affiliate program that searches multiple airlines. ( I believe Airliners.net uses www.travelnow.com for an affiliate). If you give your potential customer to reason to book on your site over another site then they simply won't. I'm assume that your advertising budget is not deep but still don't be cheap. People need to know your site exists in order for them to book flights, read your blog, look at the deals, etc.
Good luck with the startup of your site and remember "Rome wasn't built in a day"!

I decided to try out your site. I like to shop around whenever I travel, so I usually compare prices between several different sites. I tried the same thing with yours, and I pit it against British Airways and Travelocity.co.uk. I tried a couple of different routes, and your prices are exactly the same as the other two. So I have to ask - why do you think people should choose your site over the others?

I'm "around the world" (Living in the US), so I clicked on your international section. Your site told me that you have affiliates that will sell me a ticket originating from somewhere else, but it didn't tell me who those affiliates are and where I can find them. And while we're on the subject of affiliates...

DSA heres my opinion of the site, the links are too small and its a bit of a boringy layout, needs more thought for the layout. THe problem with advertising on your site, if you were to display adverts for say anything to do with aviation or holidays you will advertise your competition so you would have to advertise subjects that have nothing to do with your site. This would then make the site look tacky if you were advertising say something like tescos.
In my opinion you would have to go no adverts, or make the site look tacky and advertise things with no connection to aviation. In theory.

And how do i do this "search 500 airlines in one place" ? I've looked around the site and only found one flight box and thats from thomsonfly so wheres the other 499 airlines? and where is this quiz?

I took that quiz, and it told me that my perfect vacation was a "5-star holiday hotspot." Your site tells me that that means "Nice or Las Vegas." I've been to Las Vegas and it's horrid; and I'd never want to go to the French Riviera. I would have recommended Zurich, Reykjavik, Osaka, or Seattle. Oh, and the quiz site didn't look all that reputable either.

Unless you're planning on having a Wiki or giving everyone administrative access to the blog, I don't see that happening.
