So as some of you already know, I have been looking into motorcycles and wanting to start riding for the past year or so. So last week I bought some riding gear, and took a safety course that gave me my M2 licence. I bought a 2002 Suzuki GZ250 Marauder, and I just had it delivered last night. It is in beautiful shape, only 5,600 km, and its great to ride. I'd like to thank everyone who helped me out and gave me tips and advice regarding motorcycles and biking.

Here's some pics of my bike;

$4,200 cdn -- a bit more than I wanted to spend, but the bike was in perfect shape and only had 5,600 kilometers.

I had the same bike! My first and only. I crashed it twice in the space of a couple months, breaking my collarbone. I got rid of it. It was fun being part of the biker community for that short time, even if it was considered a 'girl's' bike by some people. I think mine was also a 2002, but it was green, and didn't have that backrest on the rear seat. I think it is a good bike to start on, I just never had any learner's class, and maybe wasn't meant to ride motorcycles. Enjoy it -I miss mine.

A learner's/skills course isn't required to get your endorsement.

I also really want to buy a motorcycle. With the gas prices being what they are and the amount of driving I do, I can afford a loan payment with all the gas money I save.

I've been looking at one of these:

Congrats man. Nice choice. No bike should stay that clean for long. Get out and slaughter some bugs. I don't see a centerstand on there. May I suggest a swingarm stand? It will make chain mx and oil changes a lot easier.

Since I don't know how to include images off of my hard drive, here is the same year, make and model of my bike.

Quick bug removal tip: when you return from your ride, drape a wet towel on your helmet/windscreen/headlight and leave it overnight. The next morning, the bugs will wipe right off.

Well, I got approved for the loan, only problem is that my credit union uses the NADA Low Retail value, meaning they would give me $1,060 for that bike....right. Test drove a 2005 Honda Shadow VLX 650 yesterday, 1400 miles on it. Beautiful condition. $4,200. Hopefully I can get a loan to cover that one.
