Whatever the price for the largest bucket of range balls is.....
I honestly need to get back out to the driving range and work on my swing before I can even consider doing a round anywhere (be it the 9 hole Par 3 course or somewhere nice).
I'm sure I'm not the only one that would give up a testicle to play a round at Augusta National.......
Hello Airplanes? Yeah, it's Blimps. You win, bye....

I'm not much into driving range. I work on my swing on the course. In fact, I just sprained my wrist after hitting a few balls off the matt at Golf Mart.
I've played on a few resort courses but I enjoy playing at local munis. It's cheap and you get to play with regular guys.

For a client? $186,000, but that's for the works... Augusta national, Hootie Johnson giving us rimjobs, and Tiger Woods as my personal caddy. We do it, like, twice a week.
Sincerely,

On another message board I used to go to, there was some guy like that.
Ends up he lives in his g/f's 1 bedroom condo somewhere.

I wouldn't spend more than $100 for a nice course, anymore and the place is just overpriced. I don't think I would enjoy Pebble Beach - it's the veteran prostitue of nice golf courses - everyone has had a go around that place. I think my dream facility would be Pine Valley in NJ. Very few pictures of it, the club only allows good golfers to join, and anually ranked as the best golf course in the country.
The nicest courses I have played are Torrey Pines north of San Diego and Oak Hills CC in San Antonio - a pure pleasure to play both of those places.

Too prove your point in SD....
I have not had the opertunity to play too many high end courses, but it seems they are just priced on reputation, namely for hosting some PGA event.
In SD, Mt Woodson http://www.mtwoodson.com/ is far more challenging than TP, and I seem to remember it being less than $80. It also seems to be a nicer course overall.
Rivewalk is another great course near downtown SD and it is about $80 dont choose friars though its boring. The only real distraction is the trolley that runs along side acouple of holes. GPS is nice too.

That does look like a neat place. Next time I'm in SAN, I'll have to give it a try.
Quoting RichPhitzwell (Reply 10): Balboa is cheep, like $30, and the grass shows but unfortunatly I like to look at planes landing so thats a no go for me.
Balboa Park really isn't all that bad of a place. I also played there during a college tournament, and while not the best I've ever played, not that bad either. I remember it was a short course with some quirky holes.
