As some of you may know it is the May long weekend for us in Canada. May Canadians mark this even by going camping and fishing, as this is when the fishing season opens again. Often camping is associated with drinking, so my question to you is, what are you drinking this May Long?

Me:

Half a 40 of Whiskey (Mixed with Pepsi) and a 28 case of Blue

Ever tried Michelob Ultra?

It is water..... with a spash of beer. However it does get the job done, after a six pack or so.

May long is a long weekend, in which Monday is a holiday, Victoria Day in honor of the late Queen Victoria whose birthday is on May 24th. They moved it however to fall on a Monday before May 25th so it will be a long weekend. Everyone calls it "May long" or "May 2-4" 2-4 for two reasons, thats the date of her birthday, and there's 24 beer in a case!

It's also the "unoffical" start of summer in Canada.

As for me, I've got 4 days off, sucks to have a union job .... Big grin , but I'll be taking it easy and just have a few Alexander Keiths.

This weekend I indulged in a six of Pilsner Urquell, one of the finest pilsners on the planet, bitter with saaz hops and sublime in its refreshment.

Well, I am drinking - only interrupted by sleep - since Wednesday evening (Thursday was a public holiday here) and I will not know how many different beer brands I drunk in the last 4 days. Big grin Anyway, today I am drinking the good ole Kronen Pils, I bought it this afternoon on a gas station in Dortmund for just 0.85 EUR per 0.5 liter bottle.

Dortmunder beer rulez!  bigthumbsup

On average, a 12 pack of beer costs about $12 - $15, and that's for the small 341/350ml bottles.

Very expensive!  Wow!

And remember, I bought the 0.85 EUR bottle at the gas station (expensive!!!) today. You can get a 0.5 liter bottle of (good tasting) beer for already 0.29 EUR here in Germany. A case of good beer (Oettinger, Paderborner) with twenty 0.5 liter bottles comes for 4.80 EUR usually, but I already saw it for 4.20 EUR during a special offer.

Germany is a beer paradise, beer is incredible cheap here!
