While in BOS over the weekend, I was listening to the tower while spotting from my room at the Hyatt Harborside.

One of the controllers kept saying something like "Bocahagedy" to arriving flights and Hasta la Vista to departures.

I know what Hasta la Vista means but I don't have a clue what the other thing is. I presumed it was Spanish but I asked my Costa Rican friend at work this morning and she doesn't have a clue!

It was the same guy. He was trying to lighten up everyone's day I think, because he called every Jet Blue with a mock french accent. When he called Air France he asked them "comment ca va" after the callsign.

Who was the carrier that he said this to? Boca means mouth in Spanish. Don't have a clue about the rest though.

It's MOCHA HAGoTDI, which is the motto of Cape Air (callsign "cair").

That guy (Boston John) is very fun to listen to. Visit the LiveATC.net forums and you'll find a lot of clips of him.

He must have been the same guy I listened to this past winter that signed off each departing flight in their own native language. It was pretty cool....sounded like the crews got a kick out of it too......

Yea, he's a real kicker and a hilarious guy on the radio. Mocha Hagodti, cyaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Couple of my favourite phrases from John M.

"PO...sition and whole."
"Jetbluuuuuue"
"Chitaaaaagwaa"
"United fower nine FIFE, connnnntack Baashton departa, hasta lavista."
"And who was that Mocha Hagodti that just called?"
"Rippit Rippit"

Very smooth, too.

Thanks for the info Mir. Sometimes it sounded like Mocha and other times it sounded like Boca!

I agree, I was killing myself laughing at him.

My favorite was Wiinnnndddd Rrrrriiideerrr (Windrider) 601, the Windrider as he was handed off to ground, said "I feel like I've been stretched!"

"Rippit Rippit"

This isn't out of nowhere, mind you - the last fix on the ILS approach to 27 is called RIPIT.
