A real fairytale end to this guy's coma! I imagine he is going to struggle somewhat to adapt to everyday life now.  Sad Amazing story, thanks for sharing  Smile

Unbelievable that he was 46 when he went into that coma. Makes the 19 years sound ever longer.

What an incredible story and I find it uplifting in many ways.

Mr Jan Grzebski obviously met a great lady when he met Gertruda. She has obviously devoted the last 19 years of her life to taking care of her husband and believing that the man she married and the father of their children would return to her. That is real, unconditional love.

What a lady.

Also, it shows the incredible resilience of the human body and mind to repair itself. After all these years, Jan now has the opportunity to experience some more of life thanks to the devotion and care of his family and his determination not to give up.

It is better to travel hopefully.............but, always be prepared for the worst!

Wow. He picked a hell of a time to go into a coma! Glad he's out of it. Lucky man too, with such a devoted wife.

Hard to imagine what would go through one's mind to black out in a country run my Communism and wake up 2 decades later in a free market democracy that shares it's currency with several other Western European countries. Absolutely mind boggling.

My mistake, you're right, Poland hasn't adopted the Euro yet.

I once saw a documentary about a guy who had been in a coma for 14 years. When he woke up he had extensive brain damage but thankfully thi man seems to be ok.

It so hard to imagine what it would be like. Basically going to sleep and then waking up in 19 years. I'd miss out on the best 20 years of my life!!!!
