10 Killed In Australian Train Crash

There has been a very nasty crash between a regional train & a semi trailer (large truck) in North-Western Victoria, near Kerang. 10 Confirmed killed so far, 7 unaccounted for & 23 injured, it appears the truck driver may have been blinded by sunlight. The train was travelling from Swan Hill, to Melbourne.

Ms Fyffe said there were no boom gates, only flashing lights at the level crossing.

And she speculated the sun may have got in the truck driver's eyes before the smash. Other sources said the truck appeared to have hit the train in a 'T-bone' collision.


I guess flashing lights and ringing bells wasn't enough to get his attention. If you can't see where you're driving, you shouldn't drive. Wear sunglasses next time.
