If you’ve been watching TNT or TBS lately you cant help but be bombarded with advertisements promoting Tyler Perry’s new comedy House of Payne. Well, the premier was last night, and I have no reservations in saying House of Payne is the worst sitcom I have ever seen. It was just awful. Below are some reviews I wish I would have read before watching:
The premiere episode would rank among the worst single TV comedy episodes I have ever seen
Not every sitcom with a predominantly black cast -- or any cast, for that matter -- can be as smart and sophisticated as Everybody Hates Chris or The Bernie Mac Show. However, it has to be possible to do better than House of Payne.
It's hard to believe that "Tyler Perry's House of Payne," at 9 and 9:30, got the green light from a cable network that advertises itself as "Very Funny." There's nothing remotely funny about it.
One could list all the ways in which the show comes up short, but the prescription is really simple if "Payne" is to survive and endear itself to a sizable audience: Everything about it needs a little improvement -- except for the things that need a lot of it.

Normally, I don't agree with critics' reviews but in this case I must concur. I had this thing on last night while I was catching up on some emails, and I can honestly say that it was possibly the worst load of crap I have ever laid eyes on. I kept it on for the second half hour, in the hope that it got better and that the first half hour was just growing pains...nope.
