Is there anything you want in your city? Do you want your city to improve?

I would like more commuter rail and light rail in the Minneapolis and suburb area. I would like MSP not to be red tail country.  grumpy  I also hope the Mall of America phase 2 expansion will start. And I hope the Vikings get a new stadium now that the Gophers and Twins will get their own stadium (the Metrodome is okay but kind of dirty, some steps are higher then others and there isn't much leg room).

It ain't no normal MD80 its a Super 80!

Here, in this city of some 470,000 souls on the other side of the big pond, I'd like an opera house and one or two decent gay cafés/bars. That's all, until I think of something else.

A beach!

A dedicated opera house, because Opera North is based in Leeds, even though there are more theatres and productions in Manchester.

A proper commuter transit system covering all 10 boroughs, serving all 2.5 million people, but apparently we're getting that, paid for by a congestion charge.

A big central park, with an arboretum and botanical garden.

Same here. There are a couple of cafés that are classified as "gay-friendly", but I don't know what that means in Sweden, since I've never been in a gay-unfriendly café here... But yeah, a real place would be nice.

Sure, we're concerned for our lives. Just not as concerned as saving 9 bucks on a roundtrip to Ft. Myers.

Dublin needs an underground badly, There is a new light rail system "LUAS" thats good but not good enough in my opinion. Also a new arena for indoor concerts, We have the Point Theater but that only holds 7000 and is the biggest indoor venue in the country, Id love to see a big arena in or around the city that can hold 20,000 for a concert, Also I know this is the Non-Av forum but for the love of god we need another runway at DUB!!!!!!!!!

Nothing there that is better than what you can get a real local store run by local business people making a living. Those stores just provide boring stuff and minium wage/high turnover jobs.

I support local business whenever I can.

Everyplace seems to have the same stores these day. If every city had the same stuff why would any of us ever want to travel.

I just remembered a few things:
less highway work in Minneapolis (the highway improvements don't seem to be working)
demolish some of the old street malls near my house and rebuild
and close down MSP and build a new international airport that isn't surrounded by houses (but I doubt this won't even happen around 2020)

I would like to see our downtown built "up" more. Fayetteville is constantly expanding outward (the population, including Fort Bragg and Pope AFB is around 300,000). Yet our downtown does nothing to suggest that Fayetteville has anything near a population that large. The city has made a step in the right direction, building new condos and restaurants on the main street downtown. Still, I would like to see one or two 15-20 story buildings constructed to reinforce our growing city status.

Besides that, we need a better shopping mall. Cross Creek mall here is nothing but a hangout for local gangs; a teenage girl was even shot inside the mall several months ago. Fayetteville has a lot of wealthy people living in it, and the city needs more upscale shops to cater to these people. Until then, a 90-minute drive to the great shopping areas in Raleigh will have to suffice.
