Road-rage In Toronto?

What's with my happy city today?

1. Today, I witnessed a homeless man wander onto a busy downtown street and almost get hit by a streetcar. The streetcar came to a screeching halt and then the homeless man walked into the side of it. He started shouting obscenities and then tried to reach into the window and hit the driver. (Okay, weird, but stuff happens in a big city).

2. Later on, a bike messenger rear-ends a lady on another bike and starts yelling at her. I heard her say, "You were scaring me so I pulled over to let you pass". He kept shouting at her, so a cab driver got out of his car to defend the woman. The man started yelling at the cabby and punched his door. (So now, I'm wondering if there's a full moon).

3. Part three - I'm walking home and I see a car backing out of a driveway. The car is stopped waiting for a roller-blader to skate passed, but Doh! Skaterboy stops himself on her bumper despite having lots of room and time to skate around. He bangs the trunk of the car a few times and yells a few obscenities. (WTF???)

4. Massive pile-up on the 400 northbound today (second in as many days which is strange in itself) --- lanes blocked for hours! A few people killed; a few racers arrested. Horrible tragedy on its own, but 2 kms back in the jam, a motorist is stabbing a driver in another vehicle?!!??!??!

WTF Toronto? I live in one of the safest cities in the world. What gives?

That's my rant. Thanks for listening.

In the world maybe, but in Canada not even close.

Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

Wow - road rage on bicycles! That's a new one for me. That's really weird for T.O. I've always found drivers up there to be much more polite than those in NYS.

Come up to Ottawa sometime if you want to experience your own road rage!

Anywhere, here's the story if anyone is interested (on the car accident/trucker death/traffic stabbing. Don't know if pedestrian/bike run-ins make the news these days)

There appears to be more and more people out there that need to get to where they are going and their destination and time of arrival is more important than mine and everybody else's nowadays.

Gosh i wish i was as important as them and not give a shit about anybody else.

Happens all the time here in SF.
Mainly bikes vs. cars.
