I'm a big-time tea lover. I have high standards for tea, because I was raised on good ol' Red Rose looseleaf tea. Unfortunately, now there is an American Red Rose and a Canadian one, the Canadian one being owned by Lipton and no longer being anything like the looseleaf tea I remember. It was a special blend and was really good. In recent years, I have been looking for the perfect tea, but almost nothing comes close to what I remember in taste. The closest I have found are Twinings Orange Pekoe and Irish Breakfast, and I have not found either in Prague where I now normally live. Also Dilmah's restaurant-quality bag tea sometimes brews close to that flavor, but its looseleaf and other bag teas just don't cut it.
So, has anyone found a looseleaf tea brand which tastes anywhere close to what Canadian Red Rose tea was like? BTW, is the American looseleaf Red Rose anywhere similar?
