Just a couple weeks away, and I shall be glued to my tv as I do every summer. I have not made a study of the teams or the riders yet. Any picks?

Tour de France Summary:

Bunch of testesterone loaded loons start cycling. Testesterone loaded loons cycle on plain ground, testesterone loaded loons cycle uphill, testesterone loaded loons cycle downhill, testesterone loaded loons cycle on plain again (repeat as many times as necessary). AND FINALLY: The loon with the largest dose of testesterone wins ! clap, clap clap

You call this a sport ???

Never argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience.

Where, pray tell, did I say in my post the word "sport"?

I was thinking along the lines of "spectacle".

Everybody in the US will be as glued to their TV's and as excited about the Tour as they are for our sports.

Everybody knows cycling is the cleanest sport around.

If Vinokourov can settle down and use his head as much a his legs, he'll have his first TdF win. Ullrich is past his prime and unfortunately has no chance. Basso was just stupid and missed his chance, he'll be past his prime before he can return.

Leipheimer? Too early to tell how the Discovery Channel team (which will NOT be called that next year) will work with him in there. Hincapie is about ready to jump ship.

I agree, absolutely - a more tedious and irrelevant sporting event I have yet to witness, they're all so drugged/hormoned up, it's amazing their wheels even touch the ground.

Worst of all, it seems to inspire every lycra'd loser in France to get on his bike and round around in huge wobbly herds, blocking traffic and causing general annoyance. We hate them.
