This made my day...a woman in Texas paid a young lad $800 for his spot at the front of the line at an AT&T store so she could use $16,000 in cash to buy the store's entire supply of iPhones to sell on eBay. Unfortunately, AT&T has a "one phone per customer" rule that she probably should have read about before buying the spot...
The young fella still gets his phone and an extra $400. I just wish they'd filmed what was an undoubtedly fierce tantrum!

Well she probably would have put better use of that money to get some friends to go to other stores and buy iPhones for her, I can see where she's going at though................................eBay.

Wow...can't believe someone fell for that hook, line and sinker - all eBay newbies on that auction as well - bidders had ratings of 0, 0, 0, 1, 3, 1 and 0.

All this over a phone that will be on sale cheaper in six months! Whatev. Just like the Wii/XBOX/PS3 thing. In six months, who'll care? I guess some people just have no brains when it comes to some things.

I think the only people making out on selling them on eBay are the ones that got their I-phones early, and kept their auctions short, like only a single day.
I saw one listing that had two of the 8 gig models, and the auction closed after 33 bids, with the final price $15,000! No telling if the sale actually closed for that amount, but with the flood of other I-phone listings that hit eBay starting on Saturday, the average prices are cratered to just about what the stores were charging, or maybe a little more.

Quoting FlyKev (Reply 9): Its worth seeing now that there's a lot of iphones on ebay that aren't even selling now.
Looks like the markets been saturated fast.
Yeah... with good availability in most Apple stores at regular prices, the demand to be gouged appears to be somewhat anemic...!

None of which have lowered prices, btw in many markets Wii's are getting sold out within hours, with many more waiting for a copy.

Actually AT&T is announcing that most of it's stores are effectively sold out of iPhones.

Really? Apple aren't it seems....
However - they could be playing a Microsoft - encouraging more people to rush in and buy before they "run out"...Like they did with the xbox 360.

Quoting Klaus (Reply 7): Highly unlikely. Apple doesn't lower prices, they usually add value at the same price.
Which is one of many reasons why I won't buy any apple products any time soon

I visited with a fellow, had bought his iPhone Friday evening, said he walked into the store and bought it without waiting or difficulty. It appears the iPhone speculators have likely guessed wrong. Too damned bad.

Haha, that lady sure wasnt paying attention to the news all day on there being a limit on the phones. Would have been fun to see her reaction after she was told only one phone person.

Discounts are only good if you actually get good value. If I have to pay a reasonable price for good quality, that's what I do. I can't afford cheap crap all over again all the time.

..one of my best friends is an Apple employee in Cupertino....he gets a free IPhone (but needs to get the service with AT&T which he will pay for)..and he bought one on Friday (he will give the one he bought to his wife)...its cool, but it still has some things which can improve.....
Also, the probability of adding 3G soon isn't too great as Apple decided it eats too much battery power..
Overall I think its quite nice..very light, very easy to use and the built in Google function is very nice.....
Personally, I wouldn't pay all that money for it though...

Quite plausibly so - but that is one thing that is almost certain to get resolved with newer chip sets - and that might in fact happen in a matter of months (don't know the current state of development there, but it would be plausible as well).
