So how lucky was your Tripple 7 day? Bahmitzva's and Weddings don't count.  Wink If your in the ATL today, it was July Grey, no rain, just blah. Lotto hasn't been played yet. But, it could be worse. At least I'm safe, have my health, and have a roof over my head, family, and friends. Just wanted my next-to-last day of vacation to have better weather.  Silly Still going to try to cook out later. So, how goes everyone else's 7-7-07?

Ah, Summer, Fenway Park, Boston Red Sox and Beer.....

The Bad:
-My Girlfriend is out of town

Good day overall, but no different from any other.

Slept through a good portion of it, Yankees lost, dinner turned out a lot crappier than I thought it would. So, not very.

On the plus side, I did learn a bit about orbital mechanics.

Bah, ended up having to get up at four, trained people until noon, and then, just when the pizza that my business bought arrived, of course I had to leave for a backup call. It was one of those cascading days where I ended up working until 5 when I should have been out by noon.

That said, my day was a lot better than my "clients'."

EDIT: clients

LOL, I sure hope so.

Mine was nothing special. Only thing that happened was taking me an hour to get to work when usually it takes 15 min.

Oh well.

I had the day off from work, so that was nice. Except I had to get up at 4:30 am to drop my dad off at the airport for his flight to CRW.

I don't get what's so special about today...yeah, ok, I know slot machines give you huge winnings on 777, but...not on 070707...so it's really just plain stupid if you ask me. My day was fine, nothing lucky or unlucky...last night was unlucky, my car battery died, but I guess 07-06-07 is an unlucky day.

Nothing special here - couldn't find anyone to play golf with, so I spent a good chunk of the day uploading my Udvar-Hazy Center pics to Flickr (trip report linking to them coming soon!), ran a few errands, couldn't find half of what I was looking for (gods, I wish Manhattan had a Target! My life would be so much easier...), and then lounged about.

I'd been tempted to go to Atlantic City today, but decided not to. I'm going to Belmont tomorrow, so maybe some of the supposed luck will carry over?

Let's see - the wife got a bad case of food poisoning, and while I was out back cleaning the pool I slipped and fell in - managing to scrape most of the skin from my right shin in the process, along with a few other injuries trying to control my fall (it's at a place in the pool where there's an angled cut in the cool-decking and I could have hit my head otherwise).

So I'm sitting here in total pain, nursing some Tennessee whiskey to dull the throbbing in my leg.

On the other hand, I actually HAVE a pool to clean (and hurt myself falling into) and wife to take care of whereas many do not, so I guess all things considered I'm still pretty damn lucky.

Well I didn't do much today except power wash my house. But I did drive home drunk tonight without getting caught, so I guess that is lucky. I know I'll get flamed about it but at least I am honest.

Yeah, people without helmets on motorcycles hitting deer at 80 MPH tend to be less than enviable.

Now why is getting stuck in traffic a good thing? Or was that it? Or was it just you being facetious?

Live where I live and if you actually want to go out you will have to. No public transportation, no local cabs, don't walk alone on the street. If you want to drink beer with people somebody has to do it. Some people like to think that they are better than everyone else because they never have drank and drove home. But I ask, how many people do other things and drive. Distraction is distraction. Talking on your phone or watching a video and driving is no worse. Some will say that is different, but that is only because it is not illegal. Driving in Detroit and talking on a cell phone is illegal, but everyone does it. 1 in 3 around here have no insurance, but they drive all the same. It is all part of the culture. People talk about people dying because of drunk drivers, but ever had a friend die because they just were not paying attention? Ever been hit by a person using a cell phone? I have. Bad driving is bad driving. One day usuing a cell phone, while driving, will be just as big of a deal as drunk driving. Some may say no, but in some states drunk driving wasn't a big deal, thirty years ago. Most people who have had too much to drink drive home and never have a problem. Late at night a lot of drivers are impaired. If you think drunk drivers are a bunch of scum go to any bar in the USA that has a parking lot and just take a look at who drives out of the place. Those parking lots are full of people for a reason. Today's laws many times make a person who had two beers "drunk". If you think those bar lots are full of people with designated drivers and people having one beer you are being foolish. Cops don't sit and bust them because those bars pump a lot of taxes into those towns and cops like to drink too. A good friend of mine is a cop and he has been caught drunk driving three times and they just let him off. He has returned they favor to cops from other towns. I have been to several cop bars in Detroit and there is no shortage of cops getting tanked too.

Just waking up in the morning gotta thank God
I don't know but today seems kinda odd
No barking from the dogs, no smog
And momma cooked a breakfast with no hog
I got my grub on, but didn't pig out
Finally got a call from a girl wanna dig out
Hooked it up on later as I hit the do'
Thinking will i live, another twenty-fo'
I gotta go cause I got me a drop top
And if I hit the switch, I can make the ass drop
Had to stop at a red light
Looking in my mirror not a jacker in sight
And everything is alright
I got a beep from Kim and she can fuck all night
Called up the homies and I'm askin y'all
Which court, are y'all playin basketball?
Get me on the court and I'm trouble
Last week fucked around and got a triple double
Freaking niggers everyway like M.J.
I can't believe, today was a good day
Drove to the pad and hit the showers
Didn't even get no static from the cowards
Cause just yesterday them fools tried to blast me
Saw the police and they rolled right past me
No flexin, didn't even look in a niggaz direction
as I ran the intersection
Went to $hort Dog's house, they was watchin Yo! MTV Raps
What's the haps on the craps
Shake em up, shake em up, shake em up, shake em
Roll em in a circle of niggaz and watch me break em
With the seven, seven-eleven, seven-eleven
Seven even back do' lil Joe I picked up the cash flow
Then we played bones, and I'm yellin domino

Plus nobody I know got killed in South Central L.A.
Today was a good day Left my niggaz house paid
Picked up a girl been tryin to fuck since the twelve grade
It's ironic, I had the brew she had the chronic
The Lakers beat the Supersonics I felt on the big fat fanny
Pulled out the jammy, and killed the punanny
And my dick runs deep so deep so deep
put her ass to sleep Woke her up around one
she didn't hesitate, to call Ice Cube the top gun
Drove her to the pad and I'm coasting
Took another sip of the potion hit the three-wheel motion
I was glad everything had worked out
Dropped her ass off, then I chirped out
Today was like one of those fly dreams
Didn't even see a berry flashing those high beams
No helicopter looking for a murder
Two in the morning got the fat burger
Even saw the lights of the Goodyear Blimp
And it read Ice Cube's a pimp
Drunk as hell but no throwing up
Half way home and my pager still blowing up
Today I didn't even have to use my A.K.
I got to say it was a good day.
Hey wait, wait a minute fool
Stop the shit
What the fuck am I thinking about?

Good things:
Ate an insanely good pizza
Good weather
Saw three 744s in a row along with a wingleted NW 757
had a deep sleep the night before (you know, the kind where it feels like you slept for 30 seconds but know you were out the whole night)

Bad things:
never left my house
my friends are out of state and will be that way for some time to come
I'm still stuck with my parents
My dog almost ran through a thorn bush in her (failed) attempt to catch a rabbit.
Had a major headache
Still haven't heard back from the 68357257252722489359373 different places I applied for jobs back in late April/early May.

.......and still no Boeing 777 too boot. Go figure in the land of the red tails.  bored
