I tried those when I was studying. Hippie students were mostly into this so I never felt like joining them.

I LOVE poi, but I've been eating it as long as I can remember. Around here poi is a real treat....especially when my grandma mixes it up  Smile !!!

Poi Balls on the other hand can be very entertaining. It is originally a Maori dance. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poi_(juggling)

Most famous of the poi-ballers I would have to say is Bette Midler. She must have learned it when growing up her because she does it in alot of her shows and shes pretty good at it.

When I went to Hawai'i and ate at a Luau, no one seemed to like Poi, except for me. I thought it was good, especially when it is made into a bread.
