It very could well be the kernel of a piece of popcorn, but if I were you I go and get it checked out right away. I've just gone through some problems that I didn't even know existed until my regular checkup. Gone unchecked and the problems could have been much worse. Best of luck to you! Skyhawk

It started around 3 days ago and no, I hate popcorn and haven't eaten it for years. BTW I hate the local dentists because all of them I encountered before are vain and arrogant. They think they know your life better than you do. That's ridiculous.

I have a inflimation type think behind my last back tooth on the right. I think another tooth is growing! Wisdom tooth probably, although only one seems to be growing. It's fairly annoying, I have an appointment with my orthodontist tommorow anyway so I'll ask him about it then. I'll keep you posted in any case

You know if it an absess if your breathe smells like a festering arm-pit boil. When it starts to hurt, you better hope your denist takes emergencies. But tooth abcesses are usually under the tooth and not on the surface of your gum.

The absess is under the tooth but it will produce a swelling which is visible on the gum caused by the absess under the tooth. There is not neccassarily any smell or pain but it will require a minor operation.
