yeah, I remember when the Raiders cheated the Charges years ago with a bogus incomplete pass that was ruled a fumble-Ken Stabler and co...this is payback, and it couldn't happen to a more rotten organization!!

I didn't see it, but bad calls are a human element in the game. Sometimes it goes your way, sometimes it doesn't. It's just the way it goes.
Well it's also going to be a human element that beats the living sh*t out of that ref on his way home for that call.

Did anyone see the Thanksgiving game between the lions and packers?
The lions got robbed not once, but twice in the 4th quarter. One was on a pass, and the other was a touchdown(right before the one that did count).

I think it was explained clearly that the call was correct. Perhaps folks have more of an issue with what's in the rulebook. His arm was clearly moving forward. Bad luck for the Raiders, because it really would've been a fumble otherwise. Even if he pulls back or tries to stiffle the throw and loses control, the rules are clear that it is an imcomplete pass.

"I wasn't sure. Yeah, I was throwing the ball," Brady said with a smile. "How do you like that?"

L-188, but the forward motion is negated if he tucks it. He never tucked it. As you said, he was about to.
When they try to stiffle/pump-fake the throw and lose control, of course their arm will be coming backwards. That's still considered an incomplete pass.

This just can't be. This kind of thing happens to Browns fans. These things happen to fans of the Indians, the Cubs, the Mariners, the Red Sox, and even the Patriots! But the Raiders? You have got to be kidding me, I cannot believe that one of the untouchables got flamed like Oakland did last night. This kind of reminds me of when Tommy killed a "made man" in "Goodfellas," you just knew that the fallout was going to be big. Oh, and to any Raider fan who was appalled by Cleveland's "bottlegate," what would the last 1/2 hour at the Coliseum have looked like if this game had been played there?

I like to fly, IT WAS A FOOTBALL GAME-GET OVER YOURSELF!! YOU SOUND LIKE A LITTLE BABY!!!
God, grow up. So the ref made a call you don't like, you'd think the world was ending!!! I suppose it's worth killing someone over, right, or throwing a bottle of beer at someone over, like happened in Cleveland a month ago.
Stop crying like a spoiled two year old. Grow up!!!

I saw the game, and while I think the call was bad, questionable at least, no other team in the NFL has benefited more from poor calls than the Raiders. What goes around comes around. You can't blame the Pat's. They got an extra shot, and they made the most of it. Go Pat's! There going to the Bowl, where they will get waxed by St. Louis.

The call wasn't bad!
The rule is that if you have forward motion it's an incomplete pass. The new-ish rule is also that if you pump-fake and bring the ball down, you STILL HAVE forward motion, because you are going to throw it again...I guess you could just hold it and run. But since he did the pump-fake it was forward motion so an incomplete pass.

If you go srictly by the rule it might have been an incomplete pass, but this point is mute since the evidence must be conclusive to overturn the call. But I would say that this not the way the outcome of a playoff game should be decided. (note I am not a Raider fan)
But then bad calls are common in sport ie Hockey, Football, KROC I think you might know what I am talking about (no it's not wrestling).

Actually the rule states that if the QB's arm is going forward, even if he is trying to tuck the ball away, it is an incomplete pass. That is the official rule. Is it fair? Probably not, but the correct call according to the NFL rules was made. Will this rule be revised, I think its a safe bet.

Ok heres one - The score. What is say 2nd and 9? Is that second down and 9 yards gone?
In American-rules football, 777kickass, you maintain posession of the ball if you can go 10 yards in less than 4 plays. So 2nd Down and 9 means that you're on your second play and still have 9 yards to go. If on 2nd Down, you get 11 yards, for example, then you have a F irst Down, and a new series of downs.

A team has 4 downs to get 10 yards. If it is 2nd and 9, it is their second try, and they still have 9 yards to go. So they got 1 yard on their first attempt.

If it 2nd down and 9 to go, that means the Bills must have the ball.

JetService if it's second down and the Bills have the ball it would be a minimum of 15 yards yo go due to E. Moulds would have dropped a pass and Bill Conaty would have moved early for a 5 yd penalty

Ihadapheo, 5 yards for moving early? Wouldn't be half the distance?
"Shaddap you!"
25 Ihadapheo: That would be true, but this was the first couple of plays after receiving a kick-off after yet another opposing team touchdown
26 JetService: LOL!!!! Glad to see they have the touchback down.
27 Ihadapheo: Ahh yes, but the kickoff went through the end-zone without being touched by a Bill.
28 JetService: Maybe they were all trying to protect it from going out of bounds.
29 Ihadapheo: But then we would get the ball on the 40
