I want to buy a Ryan Adams album and I wanted to know which one is a good one to start with. Discuss.

I hate to open old wounds, considering the Canadian government has apologised for him on several occasions, but Cuts Like a Knife wasn't too bad. I can't stand to listen to his "music" anymore. It reminds me of an old man in the early stages of laryngeal cancer.

...just to end up looking like an idiot. WHY? I don't get it. If you don't know or like the person, why not skip the thread?
Yeah? I thought you were talking about Bryan Adams. Apparently, you were talking about someone with a similar name... someone I never heard of because I don't listen to ...

It's not Ryan Adams directly -- but I'd go with Whiskeytown's Pneumonia

My personal favorite is "29", although I like every one of his albums that I've listened to.

I'm a huge Ryan Adams fan...here's my breakdown rearding my favorite RA cd's:
1) Cold Roses
2) Heartbreaker
3) Love is Hell
4) Gold
5) Easy Tiger
6) Jacksonville City Nights
7) Rock 'N Roll
8) Demolition
9) 29
Now that's not to say #6-9 are bad at all...I like all the records on a certain level because really no two records of his are the same...and I would also suggest NOT to start off with "Love is Hell" because it's sort of sad bastard music, save that one for later....since it's your first one, I'd go for #1,2,4, or 5, and then work from there.
