This kid has already got contracts in the wings for him as far as I am concerned. I did a little research on him and it looks like USC is already calling dibs on him and he is 13!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at the run this kid puts on though. I am blown out of the water.

Quoting HAWK21M (Reply 2):

You don't toss the ball around like in rugby in American football though so that's perfectly normal for the position he's playing.

I saw that on YouTube a couple of weeks ago, it's pretty insane. I wonder where he'll be in 5 years when he graduates high school. I like how a couple of defenders just fall flat on their ass during his kick returns... Big grin

Exactly

LOL, I thought the same before I learned the game

This kid has serious jukes. He reads the defense well, he is similar to that 9 yr old Rhain Davis who signed with Man U, both head and shoulders above their competition.

Happens in football(the real version) also, Man Utd just signed a 9yr old IIRC.

Give him time and see what happens. He is only 12. While he may have some good moves right now let's see what happens when the other kids around him get through their "awkward" phase and can make cuts like him. Perhaps his ability to cut on a dime will slow down as he grows. He does look to be pretty small right now so who knows what the rest of puberty will do to this kid. He might end up being an offensive lineman afterwards if he grows too much. He's got moves and speed but remember that he is only 12 and things will change.

Quoting HAWK21M (Reply 2):

As has been said our football isn't like rugby in that regard. That said he looks like he is well on his way to being a spoiled rotten ball hog and would fit right in with the NFL players of today with an attitude like that.  Wink

Totally unofficial. If I remember NCAA rules correctly they can't even comment on him as a potential player, speak to him outside of very specific conditions or places, and they sure as heck can't offer him a scholarship at this point. I take all that verbal committment stuff with a grain of salt until the kids sign their name on the dotted line come signing day.

There is plenty of passing. This kid is just a runner and it is his highlight film. It is also a team sport but there are always star players that get the ball more. This kid appears to be one.

Get back to me when your rugby players can run a 4.5 second 40 yard dash and weigh 250 pounds and then we'll talk. I'm not discounting rugby as a wussy sport but you take a blindside hit from a blitzing linebacker at full speed and see how long it takes you to get up versus playing slap and tickle in some scrum.

Don't you have a lamb to molest?  Wink

If they didn't wear pads we'd have a fair amount of broken bodies out on the field. It is a faster and stronger sport. Rugby is definitely a tough sport not for the weak of heart but football is a killer. I've got the damaged joints and permanent pain to prove it...and I never played in the professional ranks.
