I have just finished watching an epsiode of Blue Murder (The UK version) which is set in Manchester.
Main shots in the episode were the Midland Hotel, Princess Road, Manchester Terminal 2, The outside of her house in Didsbury (right next to where i work) and her office which is located in the heart of the city right near city hall.
So of course i recognsie all the areas of filming.

No, but the movie" Eddie and the Cruisers "was flimed in the towns around us... and the bridge where his car goes off and supposedly kills him is right up the road here.
I believe parts of Ocean's Twelve was filmed in Atlantic City here, and probably parts of other movies were also.

The Mary Tyler Moore show was set in Minneapolis. I can't think of any others off the top of my head (no prime time national programs, anyway), but I can think of several movies set or filmed in the area.

The Disney show Even Stevens is supposed to take place here in Sacramento, CA. However in my opinion, they do a pretty shitty job at recreating it.

Neighbours is filmed in the outer suburbs of Melbourne, the actual 'Ramsay Street' is Pin Oak Crescent in Vermont South, about 10 minutes drive from where I live. When we first got our licences, we would make the trip past there late on a Friday or Saturday night. The street would be blocked off & be guarded on weekends so drunken teenagers wouldn't destroy the front yards & terrorise the people living in the houses..........

I drove past Pin Oak Court once and it was blocked off - I was too late! It's shorter than you think too. I always thought it was in Nunawading, but I guess that next door to Vermont South.

The Lifetime series Any Day Now was set here, but it was filmed in California and apparently the writers had never so much as set foot in Birmingham nor did they see fit to hire a technical editor for scripts.

The upcoming movie that will be released August 22nd, I believe, "The Kingdom" was filmed in Mesa, Arizona on the Arizona State University's Polytechnic Campus, on Loop 202 and on IWA's property last year. I have personally been on the actual set in-between filmings. This was about less than a mile away from my A&P school.

Quoting AlexPorter (Reply 4): The Mary Tyler Moore show was set in Minneapolis.
In the early seasons of this show Mary rents a room in a house. When the home owners asked too much $$$ for their home to appear in the show Mary moved, in the later seasons, to a hi rise apt building. Said building is right next door to the bridge that collapsed last week - in fact many of the amateur photos taken immediately after the collapse were taken by residents of that building...
Oh and the infamous shot where Mary inconsiderately blocks traffic, throws her hat in the air, and gets a evil stare from a woman who could easily be my mother.... I worked just down the street and my gf at the time worked at the Daytons Dept Store you see in the background....

There are quite a few things that have been filmed in and around the Manchester area thinking about it - Cold Feet was (I think - either way brilliant series), Touch of Frost etc...
