NFL Anutter Thread vol 1.
Football season is almost here guys and gals! I'm so amped! My brother has a home season package for Houston Texans games. Plan on driving/flying to a few games.
My teams are the Cowboys and Titans. I think the Cowboys have a better shot at going deep in the playoffs than the Titans. Give Vince Young a few more seasons to learn the ways of NFL Wizard Jeff Fisher, and we'll see another championship on his resume.
Please share with us your team and predictions.
I plan on starting a new thread every Tuesday to see how you guys are enjoying the season. Good luck to anyone that is either of my Anutter Fantasy Football leagues. SRBmod and Kroc will need all the luck they can get.

I hope the Giants will go 9-7. Eli Manning needs to step up this season. No news on Michael Strahan, he is still holding out. I don't think he will be playing anymore.

Quoting FXramper (Reply 2): Did you see Brady Quinn today? Looking very sharp. If Kellen Winslow can be healthy this season, CLE has a definite shot at playoffs!
I saw very little of the game, as I took my wife out to dinner.
But what I saw was that Brady was poised, had very good pocket presence, and threw the ball very well. But it was in cleanup time, with Detroit's scrubs on the field, and the same with the Browns. But it will give him some confidence when he gets to play with the 1st and 2nd teams.
As for the playoffs, the Browns are at LEAST a year away from such lofty goals. They're headed in the right direction, but the abyss created by Butch Davis was so deep, it'll take another year of free agency/drafting to really put them within sight of the playoffs. They still have no real D-line, and they're still VERY young at most positions. But I think they're getting there. Whether they win enough for Romeo to keep his job remains to be seen. It could be Bill Cowher may reap the benefits of Romeo's dilligence.
Quoting Piercey (Reply 5): The more important news for the CLE faithful is, courtesy of Anderson's fumble, I think Frye just won his job back as human piñata
The Browns' offensive line is much deeper now, even with Ryah Tucker suspended for the first 4 weeks. They have a good nucleus in Steinbach, Thomas, Shaffer and Fraley. That's a steady group. When they get Tucker back, they're even deeper. And, if LeCharles Bentley's miracle recovery continues, it becomes a very deep unit, with guys who can play multiple positions.
I think you'll see the Browns' sacks allowed way down this year.

Quoting Piercey (Reply 8): Fine, but Quinn won't be anywhere near the field for the first four weeks. Count on it.
If Frey and Anderson keep this up, and if Brady does well with the first and second units, don't bet against it. Romeo is out to save his job this year, and if Brady gives him the best shot, he'll play. Anderson has almost played himself off the team. Dorsey has actually looked pretty good this year, and Frye cannot put the job in his pocket. The next two weeks will tell if Frye or Quinn is the starter.
And, again, Quinn ought to fire Tom Condon. Had he been in camp from day #1, he might already have the job.

Quoting Piercey (Reply 1): Green Bay looked amazing on Saturday, hopefully they can keep it up when the games count.
I cannot believe Seattle lost that game. Hasselbeck didn't play, Alexander didn't do crap. *groans*

Some Charger talk here...
I am still traumatized by their loss to the Patriots on January 14th... I was flying that day and got to watch the 2nd and 3rd quarters at ORD, and when I boarded my flight to LAX, the Chargers were in the lead...
Then the FA came onto the interphone and told me the horrible news... It spoiled my first ever 777 flight!
Well, like always, I hope they can make it past the first round this year (same with my Padres!)...

Quoting AirCop (Reply 16): From the southwest, its the Arizona Cardinals at 6-10..new coaching staff, same results..
I agree with that! If this does seem to be true again this year, then I'll be convinced that the Bidwell's don't give a rats butt about the Cardinals. I don't think they ever have.

I'm a Cleveland Browns fan. (season ticket holder)

BQ was simply amazing. With that said, i don't think he should start right away.
I'm in favor of benching him at least till the Bye-week (week 7). Give the guy some time to learn the system and get acclimated with it. I have NO doubt in my mind that BQ is the franchise QB for Cleveland, but i'm not in favor of throwing him in there right away.
