Nah, I think Pep has since upgraded to this beauty:

(For those not in the know, that's a Sanyo SCP-7050, which is ruggedized and built to military specifications against shock, vibration, and dust. It almost, ALMOST became my current cell phone.

At least it seems to be one of the later-model bag phones.

However, from whom would you obtain the analog service that that phone probably requires?

True story: A friend of mine bought a used BMW 740i and was delighted to find that it had an integrated cell phone. However, as the car was a 90s model, the built-in cell phone required analog service to work. After calling practically every cellular provider in the yellow pages (and after getting laughed at A LOT!), he finally found one small, independent, local company that still offered analog...at a less than competitive price. Still, in his mind it was worth it just to have a cool feature of his car be once again fully functional. What a pity it was then when he spilled an entire cup of coffee on his console and shorted out the inner workings of his built-in cell phone less than a week after he'd obtained service for it.

Not to mention that its $400 +.

Well, maybe they sell them because people are so careless about reading pricetags. It is $500 + or $600 + dollars.
$549.99 with 2-year term Net of Consumer Mail-in Rebate
$599.99 with 1-year term
$669.99 with no term
*Price valid after mail-in rebate

Nearly seven hundred unless you consent to let them finance it for you at an unspecificed interest rate. Add taxes and whatever...
