Post Your First Night Shots (by RichPhitzwell Apr 28 2007 in Non Aviation)

Here's my first attempt a few months ago and I say it's a little too dark.  Wink

This one I took a couple of weeks ago while in Vegas and IMHO is a tad bit better.

I haven't really tried at many night shots. Here are two from the Gateway Sheraton, Toronto Airport. Not much of a skyline on this side.

I'd say these are my best two by far. The last one was about a 30 second exposure, so the tips of the branches moved slighty creating what I like to think is a nice effect.

Nice shots so far, hope to see some more!  Smile

I've always wanted to take pictures like some of the people on here, but I have no clue how to hold the camera still enough. I was too sick and tired on this flight anyhow. (And blood-stained.)

Why thank you, I believe that was a compliment.  Wink Hope you don't plan on leaving SAN anytime soon, as I will definitely be down there this year or next.

PS-Thanks for thinking about the fires too. They're good at keeping us away from them, and the season's about over now! Keep in mind all the fires still going down more toward your area though.

Later Dave!

Here are some of my night pics. As you can tell, I'm not too experienced. The first two were taken very soon after I got my camera almost a year ago, so I hadn't quite figured out night shots yet. They are from Homecoming at the UofA and are of the bonfire and the fireworks sequence. The other fireworks pics came out really bad, so I did not include them.

Here are some pics I took flying CLE-PHX on CO in December.

Chicago:

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h67/FLTUS37/Ohio%20Vacation%2012-06/29OverflyingChicago.jpg

Wing shot on approach to PHX (dirty window):

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h67/FLTUS37/Ohio%20Vacation%2012-06/33WingandEngineonApproach.jpg

And Phoenix itself:

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h67/FLTUS37/Ohio%20Vacation%2012-06/34Phoenix.jpg

These last two were taken this summer from my bedroom window at home. As you can tell, having a camera where you cannot set the shutterspeed can make lightning shots difficult.

Good to hear. Yep, always scary here when it's hot and the humidity is low like it has been around here  scared . Hoping we get some sort of rain some month.

Oh yeah, thanks for the pic myspace comment, you're the only one who cares, wahhhh. Haha.  Smile.

Thanks, although I'm not really into photography. I use a couple of old digital cameras: A 7 year old Olympus 1.3 (yes it is a 1.3) megapixel camera and a second hand Sony 3 megapixel camera.
