Welcome to High School Football 2007! Lets share our high school's first game results for this season.
My high school I graduated from is South Kitsap (Port Orchard, WA) and they played at Kentwood last night. They lost 19-21.
What really sucks is over the last 10 years, SK has sucked royally since the head coach resigned and went elsewhere. SK used to be a total powerhouse in the state of Washington with the most WA State play-off appearances ever. I played in 1993-1995 for them and won the final Kingbowl in 1994 by beating Walla Walla 15-10. We ranked 23rd nationally that year by USAToday newspaper, which was really cool!
So how did your high school football team fare?

My former school, Temecula Valley High School (TVHS) in Temecula, CA was always pretty good. In my 4 years, we split the series against our rivals, Chaparral High School (CHS). The game against Chaparral in junior year (2005) was the best. It was played at CHS, and TVHS was behind by 3 with less than a minute left. We won with about :20 on the board when our senior QB Melvin Blackmon made a 5-yard TD pass to WR Scotty McKnight (no relation to me, haha). Our side of the field went INSANE. It was a great moment...
Plus during the halftime of the game, this senior named Nathan ran right into CHS's band performance wearing nothing but a Speedo with "T" and "V" on his buttcheeks and started waving a huge TVHS flag. All of a sudden, security started chasing him and he ran off the field and hopped a fence behind the bleachers... Funniest shit ever!
A side note- all of TVHS's cheerleaders were smokin' sexy! I was always in the good books with them, and always liked to party with them after games, especially wins when they were in an INTENSELY good mood:
Hopefully this season will not be a repeat of last season's, one in which they finished 5-7 and failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 1991. I remember the miserable seasons they had my freshman through junior years ['89, '90, '91]. '91 was the first season of the coach who helped spark the turnaround (Coach Mize) and whose assistant coach who came with him (Coach Flowe) that took the team to four state titles '97, '00, '01, '02 after the Coach Mize's untimely death in 1993.
I'm happy that our biggest rival Brookwood, gotten beaten by last season's AAAAA Co-Champion Roswell.

My HS was not known for its football team when I was there (we were rocked 70-0 by Texas powerhouse Austin Westlake one season when they were riding a 40+ undefeated streak in district) but apparently they're ok now since the local paper is referring to them as a powerhouse...they (Stephen F. Austin HS) lost to Round Rock Westwood 27-7 in what is supposed to be an upset. I never went to a game when I attended and even now I'm only mildly interested.
