Just a sampling of photos taken on my recent trip to LAS to get hitched with LogansGirl. We left BOS on August 28th, and returned on September 1st. Four days in LAS is plenty, even if you're there to do what you've always wanted.
My beautiful bride to be on an AirTran 717 from BOS:
We stayed at Luxor, on the south strip:
While fairly nice, the rooms are exhibiting plenty of wear. They are currently renovating and removing all Egypt themes. But hell, there was a hot tub, and we used in twice a day (details witheld).
View from our Spa Suite window upon arrival:
Touring the strip on the way to get our wedding license:
Near MGM, with Caesar's Palace and lovely shrouded mountains in the background:
Approaching Paris:
Then we had to get gussied up to get hitched. In the Luxor lobby, a couple just arriving graciously took a few shots:
More wedding stuff will be forthcoming if Ian can get his shit together (don't hold yer breath).
Next day, we went to the Venetian. It's perhaps the most photogenic of the casino exteriors, despite some of the more modern casionos that look like resorts, but still, let's face it, are in the middle of a cheezy desert environment designed to fleece y'all of yer money. FYI, I still love it!
A few shots of the Venetian:
The terraces at Ventian:
The main fresco inside the main entrance:
So, we ate a ton of great food, drank great wine, great scotch, met some great people, won enough money to spend it all on more food, wine and scotch, and, at the end of the day, got hitched. What's won in Vegas stays in Vegas, and normally, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. This time, I brought her home with me.

Wonderful pictures John and Alice!
Looks like you two had a great time and the pictures are post card quality.
In fact, they are Airliners.net database quality.
Are you aware that Britney Spears is in one of your photos?
Such a nice photo to be ruined with her name in it.

Thanks, man. We got a Sony CyberShot 7.2 Mpixel shortly before we left for LAS, and we're rather pleased with it.

Yeah, she was hosting the opening of the new LAX nightclub at Luxor the night we left. Fortunately, we were able to get outta Dodge before all the hoopla hit town.

We ordered a DVD of the ceremony and some hard copy stills. Perhaps we should also order the slide show which includes the still shots electronically.
Do you use a carousel slide projector?
I just replaced the bulb in mine.
I am sure your guest will be thrilled to sit in your living room to see all the photos.

Must be nice living in the 1970s.
My dad used to have a Canon that only took slides. He had a carousel projector and an old grey screen that we would occasionally set up and look at pictures from his trips to Europe for business (and obviously, some sight-seeing)
Oh sorry, you must have meant a Powerpoint slide show for those new computers.
Yes I do use the slide projector for old slides and I just use a large white wall or the side of our neighbor's house.
Let me know when you have the electronic slide show pictures ready.

Congratulations! I met my wife in Las Vegas in April 05... We went back six months later and made it official... You really CAN hit the jackpot out there... We're going to spend our second anniversary there next month...
The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers.

Nice...only problem with us is that if we go back for an annivesary, it's hot enough to melt yer bum.
That's what I hear... Notice I go in April and October...
If you did as well as I did (and I'm sure you have) you're a lucky man indeed!! Best wishes...

Well, just to be clear, I met her at the BHM meet back in November. We just decided to go to LAS to git hitched. My "brought it back with me" comment has some, er, undertones that I'd better not get into. (No, she wouldn't care, I just don't want to get banned.)

Quoting RJdxer (Reply 20): Congrats to the both of you. Now work on getting out there next April so we can buy you both dinner and drinks.
Thinking about how to juggle a house purchase in BOS vs. a weekend with drinks and food, oh sorry, one dinner and drinks. If Luxor would send me an e-mail nicer than "buy at the same rate that you already bought at, but this weekend is more expensive," we'd have something here.
Seriously, we may not be able to get there if rates are high and we're trying to close on a house, but we'll keep looking at it.

Well, one from me, hopefully it won't be just the four of us (my wife will be along again)! I would think, similar to how Aaron would not be able to go anywhere without a drink in his hand should he show up at any A.net meet, you and Ally would be in the same boat for food and drinks.
I hope you can juggle it successfully and make the meet.
