This might be a different story, since Judaism is considered a precedesor of of Islam, and so a ceratin mercy applies. But the Bah'ai relate to Islam like the Mormons to Christianity.
For the strictly religious Muslims, Mohamad's prophecy, as written down in the Q'ran was the last and final one. Since the Bah'ai belief is based on a more recent prophecy, it is for the Shiite clergy a heresy, for which no mercy is being given. The Bah'ai are truely prosecuted in Iran.
