Female FA'S And Rubbing Against And Touching...

Ok this is a serious question and maybe a concern or not for some. A recent flight I was on with my wife was a little strange. I'm use to FA's bumping me while going up and down the isles, no biggie. This was a female FA who kept rubbing her rear up against me every time she came by. My wife was laughing at first, because she said the lady was flirting. I ignored and thought nothing of it. Then she came with my drink and gave me a full view of her upstairs area. My wife was starting to get a little annoyed.

As the flight went on she rubbed harder against me. That's when my wife asked her to be careful where she was rubbing and explained to her that we were married. The FA just smiled and said that's nice! The rest of the flight she kept doing it. My wife did contact someone at the airline, but everyone was treating it like we are nuts. Have any of you ever had this happen before? FA's, is this common? Is there any rules about this?

Yep, you're being nuts. The flight is over with.

This is nothing to complain about.
This has happend to me a couple of times. Made good friends in ORD, DEN, IAD and here in SFO. I won't say what airline though.  Wink

Too bad youy don't have pictures to share.  Sad
You could have posted a really cool trip report.

That was a good comeback on her part. Yes she should have stopped after that.

Maybe I’m just a cynic, but in my mind it is sexual harassment. I will bet my bottom dollar that were you the one who did the rubbing, you would be met by police once the plane docked at the gate. Most probably you would also have a sexual harassment suit or other charges filed against you.

I think its time to end this game. I happen to know that you're in sales and marketing for the airline in question and that you're just trying to appeal to the coveted male business traveler.

And its working!!!! Shrewd!!!!!  Wink

This is in jest of course, this a very serious matter to be dealt with.......(evil grin)

Maybe I missed something, WHAT is the area of concern? A female flight attendant was making sexual advances towards you. Apparently, this indicates that you are an attractive chap she took a liking to. Despite your (weak) objections, she kept going at it and found no intimidation from your wife whatsoever. She pursued you sexually and, I guess, this is a matter of concern to you. I just can't seem to understand why it was so.
Men and women pursuing each other for the purpose of sexual/intimate exchange is the way of the world. Unfortunately, in today's society, some individuals cannot differentiate between flirting and abuse, and some cannot control themselves and take things over the edge. Thus, we now have something called "sexual harassment," which some people take advantage of for financial gain. Apparently, you seem to fall under this category. Personally, I would have played along, carefully and respectfully, and then deplaned and forgotten about it. And yes, I am married and my wife would probably not like it, but I would never subject her to the ridicule of presenting a complaint about it with the airline, and being made to look like you are nuts.
This is just my male pig opinion, oink.

Quoting XJETFlyer (Thread starter):

Yeah, play along and don't get yourself in hot water, which this FA managed to do.

Silly thread, really.

It may be silly to you, but what if it was a MALE FA? Rubbing his rear and front on you? If I was a single guy with no ring on I could understand her coming on to me. Sexual harassment? Maybe. I just think she went a step to far. One of our female friends asked how I would have handled it if I was flying alone. I'd like to say the same way. This was more than flirting in my opinion. Brushing a few times to let you know the booty is available is one thing, but rubbing harder and harder after being confronted by my wife is a whole new area!

No, it's not. It's a form of sexual assault. It's not sexual harassment, at least in the traditional sense, because the F/A is not in a position to force you to do anything you don't want to do via leverage. She can't have you fired or even arrested (as it is her word against 2 other people, not one).

Well, that is not the issue you presented, this was a heterosexual encounter, the more common variety. I am as straight as they come, but not scared by gay or bisexual people. Typically, however, gay men don't approach random men for this purpose, most likely for fear they could receive violence in return. But your question is totally pointless, you freaked out about an advance made to you by a woman.

Quoting XJETFlyer (Reply 14):
If I was a single guy with no ring on I could understand her coming on to me

I have been married 15 years, and have found that more women seem to be interested in me BECAUSE I'm married, funny enough. Some consider us married men "safer" than single men.

Quoting XJETFlyer (Reply 14):

Yeah, you "would like to say" but, in reality, you would have probably pursued her. It's the nature of the beast, just accept it.

I really don't want to give you a hard time about this, but I feel you set yourself up with this thread. A woman came on to you, you are a cute guy, the globe will continue spinning on its axis. Next time (and it will happen again), be ready. Go use the toilet and let her know what your interest or lack thereof is, and don't get all flustered.
There are dozens of guys reading this that are, ahem, jealous of you.

No, you are mistaken. Attraction between the opposite sexes is not illegal anywhere. If you had quoted the other parts of my statement, you would have realized that I pointed out how some people take it to an extreme, and THAT is illegal. But being attracted to someone and expressing it is not illegal.

Michael, I concede with all due respect. However, there is a fine line

Sexual harassment usually involves unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature. Sexual harassment can involve physical contact. However, it also refers to verbal or other forms of gender discrimination of a sexual nature.

Sexual assault refers specifically to rape, forcible sodomy, indecent assault, or carnal knowledge, or attempts to commit these acts.

Ofcourse I understand why Xjet finds it abhorrent behavior, I mean if I was married and my wife was right next to me this situation would be embarassing and unwanted, but most of us who are arguing the opposite are probably single and thus would welcome such behavior, and I would be a part of that group.
