No one started a tread for this week;
#1 - Lloyd Carr has righted the ship in Ann Arbor.
#2- Don't they play any close games in Columbus?
#3- I'm loving what happening in South Bend.
Oregon State and Arizona State tonight, hopefully a good game.

Colorado 42, Miami (OH) 0...Buffs D plays a terrific game and totally dominates the RedHawks, while our running game woke up and turned out over 300 rushing yards...next on the agenda: *cue Darth Vader music* - Oklahoma pays a visit to Folsom Field next Saturday...

I'd like to express my deepest anger towards those bastards from ABC who didn't show the Washington State vs USC match in full, but decided to show "bonus coverage" of the Wisconsin game, just as the USC game was like in the middle of the third quater. If I see a game, I expect that it's shown in full until the very end, then you can show whatever bonus coverage you want.

Harvard beat Brown 24-17. It really didn't help Brown's cause that they threw 3 interceptions, all in the second half. The scoring was very front-loaded, since the score at halftime was 21-17. Harvard now goes to 1-1 on the year, 1-0 in the Ivy League. This was also the first night football game played at Harvard.

Both Ohio State and Bowling Green had easy, lopsided wins. OSU scored 28 points in the first 7 minutes on Northworstern.
And Nebraska barely held off Ball State, only thanks to a dropped pass near the end zone by a Ball State receiver in the last minute. Nebraska 41, Ball State, 40. The 'Huskers have a long way to go to be considered a national power, taking nothing away from the Cardinals in that game.

I thought it was a good switch...the USC/Wazzu game was becoming something of a blowout, whereas Iowa/Wisconsin was a very close and exciting game...obviously if you are either a USC or Wazzu fan, then yea, you might be upset by it, but as a neutral party to both games, I thought ABC did the right thing...when I saw how close Iowa/Wisconsin was, I was hoping ABC would swap to that game, and voila, they did...

Syracuse beat #18 Louisville, 38-35. 'Cuse was killing Louisville throughout the game, and was up by 10 going into the final two minutes but Louisville came back and made things interesting. Great nail-biting finish; if UL hadn't botched the onside kick they had a good chance of at least making the score even.
Regardless, Syracuse won and this place went nuts last night.

Quoting Senorcarnival (Reply 12): I was keeping an eye on the Badgers but I was really watching the Georgia - Alabama game. That was one hell of a game that Georgia almost blew.
There was a few moments where I came close to throwing the remote at the screen. The Coutu kick was impressive even though he missed it, as he was kicking into the wind. A lot of folks were doubting the Dawgs in this game, so I'm sure a few folks are eating crow today. Stafford seems to be getting back into a groove, and the defense at times looks solid, although a few miscues let Bama back into the game.
After giving the Gators a bit of a scare, Ole Miss comes to play the Dawgs between the hedges.
And in other upset news, App. State (Ranked #1 in the FCS) was upset by Wofford (#13th ranked in the FCS) 42-31.

I'm a purist with such things. If I see a certain game being advertised, I expect it to run in its entirety. I mean, things such as these are the material potential TV fiascos like the one from that Superbowl game from the 60's (I believe it was Superbowl III) are made of.
Haven't we all wanted a comfortable shoulder to cry on (and hey, if it gets you fed even better!) after an unsuccessful day? What's the big deal about that? Her article would be more accurate if she just focused on Reid's alleged attitude problems than going after a guy who just wanted some comfort after a long day at the "office."

My alma mater, Michigan State, beat Notre Dame for the sixth time in a row in South Bend. The entire focus of the media coverage was on the "Irish" being 0-4 for the first time ever. But give credit to the new MSU coach Mike Dantonio for getting his team ready. Maybe he can do a Jim Leyland on this team and turn them into champions.

And this week test with Wisconsin, will give a truer sense where Michigan State stands. I got to give Dantonio credit, a least the Spartans appear to be ready to play a full 60 minutes every week now as compare to when John L Smith ran the program.

Clemson is 4-0, but they have G Tech next week, and it's in Atlanta. We'll see if Tommy can get Clemson over this hurdle. The good thing is they have Va Tech at home, and (assuming they handle the rest of the schedule) then Boston College at home later. That could be a huge game, perhaps between top-10 teams at that point. It doesn't get easier, though, because they have to finish up on the road at South Carolina. We'll see what happens.
