Alright Guys, only 3 races left.

Its coming down to it, and I'm starting to feel that its going to be another World Championship, even though he's a cheater and doesn't deserve it.

This years race is at Fuji, and I can't access Youtube here, to post a lap run...but from what I hear Its a pretty good track for passing, which could make things interesting.

I also Expect Lewis Hamilton to come on strong and aggressive.

Your Thoughts?

Besides the usual suspects who will be fighting for the race victory, i suspect a stronger showing from BMW. I'm hoping for a Ferrari victory, preferably by Massa.

I'm probably gonna get  flamed  from some people for this, but i'm hoping that Alonso takes the drivers championship.

I believe that this could be the race that decides the championship. Not many of the drivers from my knowledge have raced at the Fuji circuit, so i'm expecting a lot of jockeying from the drivers. I'm just trying to imagine th first corner with Alonso and Hamilton side by side.

It's not the same. Apart from the whole McLaren vs Ferrari fiasco, the Japan GP isn't going to be the same in any way. I kind of liked Suzuka and the layout of the circuit. I don't know if Fuji will ever be as interesting as Suzuka.

Well not in some time, F1 Grand Prix were held at Fuji in 1976 and 1977, but that was before many members here were born (and most F1 drivers for that matter)
Mario Andretti won in 1976 driving the unpopular Lotus 77, with James Hunt clinching the championship by 1 point from Niki Lauda.
James Hunt winning in 1977 in a McLaren M26.

Based on previous form I guess McLaren have the advantage but 30y/o data is likely not especially relevant  Wink

On a more serious note, as a Ferrari fan I'm aware that the only way Kimi or Massa can win this season is by having McLaren screw up big time, either the team and/or the drivers. Even the anti ferrari people here would appreciate the drama of getting into the last 2 races with only 3 points difference between the top 4 drivers  Big grin

btw, I read that Ferrari made an offer to Alonso for next season to replace Massa. Is this confirmed? I hope this does not happen cause I can't stand Alonso, even if he is a great driver. If this ends up happening for the first time I'm going to want one of the Ferrari cars to not win!!!

It would be interesting if that did happen, Ferrari would then have 2 drivers that would be able to supply them with
Mclaren tech information. In regards to Kimi and Alonso in Ferrari cars, Kimi would break th cars and Alonso would
moan about them. Although i am a Mclaren/Alonso fan i have come to terms with the fact that he will probably leave
the team at the end of the year (hopefully back to Renault) i would be only too happy to see Massa take his place.

They have probably gotten information out of the one driver they had. However, an engineer is probably of more value and Ferrari have poached a few of them in recent years.

That and the fact that he's been using the Ferrari data with P. De La Rosa....Not to mention trying to run Hamilton off the track in SPA, although that was just racing...it was still kinda cheap.

Ok,

This threads is really hot form the very beginning. I can see we have a Mclaren camp as well as a Ferrari camp.

Although I strongly think that Kimi will be able to close the gap, he also needs to pass pointwise, and I don't really see that happen.
Mclaren are to strong for that to happen.

But on the other hand,
The only experience all drivers have from this track is through simulation., so I still think it will be an exiting race.

But not so long ago I thought by now the chances would have been even smaller, so who knows, maybe Alonso and Hamilton will crash into eachother after all!
