I can't stand Michael Vick but why are they giving him a pot test?
His previous actions has nothing to do with smoking weed.

A condition of his plea agreement and release until his formal sentencing I would guess.

It probably also has some lines in there about not associating with nefarious characters which would keep him from hanging out with his younger brother.  Wink

Been a good year for Mr. Vick.

After the state gets done with him his career should be about done. Shame he was exciting to watch on the football field.

I pretty sure it was part of the plea deal, and his bond, but I can't find anything to back it up.

BTW - did anyone see that he was indicted by Virginia yesterday.

This guy is nothing more than a flat-out idiot who's so myopic and dense that he'd sooner shoot himself in the foot than make a rational decision.....and he continues to prove it day after day.

It's most likely part of the routine pre-sentence investigation. I know in state court where I live, persons on probation are subject to random drug tests. Bottom line, a condition of being released on bond or probation is that you will obey all laws. He's an idiot....

I had no idea of drug test and marijuana test for those standing trial for dog fights.
Keep in mind, oppose marijuana testing for any non-DOT jobs.
I am the last person to defend Mr. Vick but geez, let him have his weed as long as he smokes inside his own house.

So you believe a school teacher, a surgeon, a day-care provider, a nuclear power plant operator should never be drug tested?

Ok.

Judge Henry E. Hudson restricted Vick to his home every day from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. at the request of Vick's probation officer, Patricia Locket-Ross.

Wow, they sure are tough on him. I do that voluntarily.  Yeah sure

Talk about when it rains, it pours. Now the bank is after him as well.

Canadian Bank Sues Michael Vick

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Royal Bank of Canada has sued suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick for more than $2.3 million.

The bank argued that his guilty plea to federal dogfighting charges and the resulting impact on his career have prevented him from repaying a loan.

The loan's terms specify that any employment change negatively impacting Vick's income constitutes a default on the loan, according to the lawsuit.

My man, why on earth would you feel sorry for him? Its not anyone's fault but his own that he is perhaps one of the dumbest athelets on the face of the earth right now. Nobody forced him to ruin his NFL career and lose millions upon millions of dollars dog fighting. Nobody forced him to suck on the hippie lettuce while he is out on bail awaiting his sentencing in which he will go to the hole. He doesn't deserve our sympathy because he is making bad decision after bad decision. If me or you did crap like that, we would be screwed and ole Vick wouldn't give a rats ass.

This is true, but its only compounding his problems. Is he that messed up he just can't get by without burning tree and making things worse on himself? Especially when he knows he iwll be drug tested?

In reply #10 I stated that I had no idea he was being monitored for drug use. If he knew he was going to be tested, then he is even dumber than I thought. I have 0 respect for Michael Vick for his past behavior. I could care less if he smokes weed but if you are expected to take drug test, then he should know to leave the pot alone.
In his press conference, he stated that he "needs to grow up". Well I guess that was all lip service.

Who cares? Screw him, He is a piece of trash. Maybe he had enough courage to even look in those dogs eyes when he killed them. I hope he rots in jail, loses his career and goes broke. Maybe he can become a security guard when he gets out jail like Gary Coleman.

I haven't followed the details of his case that closely, but I heard earlier today on the radio that Vick is represented by not one, but FIVE lawyers. I will guarantee that at least one of them (and probably 4 or 5) specifically told him to be prepared to be drug tested and not do anything stupid. The probation people doing the Pre-Sentence Investigation get to recommend to the judge what they think Vick's sentence should be. The judge warned Vick when he pled that the decision would be the judge's alone, and he can give him the maximum. His honor will not be amused by this drug test and will likely throw the book at Vick.

Times like these make me wish I was a judge. I'd really dig into this schmuck about effing up and not using the "No Shit" and "No Duh" rules of life and thought processes.

I've mentioned in the previous Vick threads already that his entire life he as only been taught to play ball and that's it. So don't expect any sort of rational explanations from him.

I guess they want to cash in and swindle him for his worth while he still has some cash. In 5 years, he wont have the $$$ to hire good lawyers to get himself out of trouble then.

By the way, are you two Gators related? You both have the same last name.  Smile
