LeBron Being Labeled A "Traitor" In Cleveland

Cleveland's favorite basketball player is being roasted by local baseball fans. LeBron, an avowed lifetime Yankees fan, was seen taunting Indians' fans in Game 1 at The Jake waving around his Yankees cap. And the media has noticed.

Personally, I thnk all this is kind of funny, if you ask me. If he's a Yankee fan, so be it. It won't help them win this series, that's for sure. And I love the Bob Feller remark. Bob may be a legend in Cleveland, but he's a bitter old man (trust me, I've met him-and worse, flown with him. But I guess LeBron has to learn that the price of fame is having everything under a microscope.

Hilarious.

He's a front-running band-wagoner.....I was more impressed with Craig Sager during that interview...he actually toned down his suit somewhat  wink .

But scoreboard is the ultimate kicker in all this.....Yankee-fan had to be walking out of Jacobs last night with his tail between his legs.....that was a good old-fashioned asskicking laid on them.

I had to wear a Yankee hat at work the other day, since I lost a bet to a colleague and NY fan at the start of the season: that the Tigers would make the playoffs and that the W/C would come out of the AL Central. It seemed like a fase bet at the time.

Anyway, I told my colleague that the combination of me and LeBron both wearing Yankee hats amounted to very bad karma for his team.

Go Tribe! (from a Tiger fan)

Maggs swings, it's a drive deep to left! The Tigers are going to the World Series!!!

He wasn't exactly "waiving it around". He wore the cap to support his team

I can't stand the dude. Sort of like Jim Bunning.

That'd be akin to Joe Montana wearing a rival team's cap if the Giants were in the playoffs in the 80s, and he were at the game.
He's a superstar for one of the city's other teams, and he comes out and supports the other team in a very important series.
What an asshole move.

Is it really his team? I mean, if he said he liked the Yankees, Clippers and Bills, I could understand it. But Yankees/Bulls/Cowboys? Something is fishy there.

Actually yes he did he said that the Yankees have been his team for a long time when interviewed on TBS during the game. He said that him and CC Sabathia were friends etc...anyways.

I dont see how anyone can label him as a bandwagon fans we don"t know him. People are under the impression since he plays for the Cavs he needs to be a tribe fan. I'm pretty sure he's not a Cleveland native anyways.

He's from Akron, OH. I dont see what's wrong with Lebron supporting the Yankees, does he "HAVE" to support the Indians?

It's so simple.....Cleveland loves Lebron...Cleveland fan pays an exhorbitant amount to watch Lebron play at the arena...Cleveland fan is paying for Lebron's 32,000 square foot house.

So what does Lebron do...he shows up amongst his loyal fans sporting the lid of Indians' fan dreaded arch-enemy, the New York Yankees. Yeah, if I'm Indians' fan, I'm pissed.

If for no other reason, I'm rooting for the Yankees simply to show up Lebron. That is, until he shows up at the ALCS sporting a Red Sox cap  wink

So true. I don't see why he has to be an Indians fan even if he's from Akron this is a free country.

I can understand how they would be p'd off however it doesn't mean he has to be an Indians fan. I don't care if they pay him a billion dollars he has rights to support any team he wants he wants, however maybe if it ,means that much to the fans maybe he would consider being more low key about being a Yanks fan.

So I know what you mean. Fans can be territorial if you don't supoort the local team however I don't believe it was there was a contract to become and Indian Fan.

But you know what it's just a game as much of a baseball fan I am (Mariners btw) I get flack for being one even when I lived on the east coast. I expect it though however my life doesn't just revolve around sports.

Well not everyone's favorite and now even lower on the food chain after this.

Money does not buy common senses!

though he does have his right to support who he wants, he could and should have shown support for the home team, similar to what he would like to see if they ever make the playoffs again.
