NFL Week #6. How's Your Team Doing?

Had you told me after week 1, that the Browns would be 3-3 going into the bye week, and that they'd be averaging about 27 points a game, I'd have committed you. But that's where they're at.

The Dolphins made a 2nd half run at the Browns, but the Browns ended up coasting to a 41-31 win. Braylon Edwards had 3 TD catches, and Kellen Winslow had another big day for the Browns. Derreck Anderson now has 14 TD passes on the year, and showed signs or really maturing today, not throwing any picks, and making the right decision if receivers were covered. He had a QB rating of about 142 today.

The Browns defense continues to struggle, giving up their 6th straight 100 yard rushing game to an opponent (Ronnie Brown today), and still not being able to come up with stops on their own. Romeo has said changes are coming to the D during the Bye week. They're a good D-line away from being a real contender, which is incredible.

They'll get Jamal Lewis back in two weeks against STL, and, possibly, LeCharles Bentley could be activated in the news two weeks, making a very good O-line even better. I'm thrilled at the improvement of the Brownies.

What say you, about your club?

The Cardinals/Panthers game just starting the second quarter has developed into a battle between quarterbacks that were signed last week. Looks to be a long afternoon for the Cardinals with Rattay at the controls. Currently 6-0 Panthers.

The 49ers are on their bye week, so they're actually doing better than they've done the past 3 weeks.  Silly

The Saints will get to show their ineptitude in front of a national TV audience tonight on NBC against the marginally good Seahawks.....wonder if the D'backs/Rockies game will pull in better ratings than this dog  wink

Badly, the Redskins lost 14-17 to the Packers  Sad

Still a better result than the Giants game a few weeks back with that fumble on their own 1 yard line...

He won two titles here in Arizona, until he got trouble with his administration and he was sacked. Other schools outside the league refused to schedule his team at the end because he kept running the score up. Meanwhile the Cards 10 Panthers 9 in the battle of the backups 4th quarter.

Jeebus can't Kurt Warner get through a single game? The guy keeps getting chances and then almost immediately gets hurt.

Well I was at the game today in Green Bay, and it was good to finally see the Packers win for once. Before today they were 1-3 when I've been at the game. It wasn't too pretty on the offensive side of the ball, but the defense stepped up and got the job done. Here's some pics from today:

Will you watch the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions on Sunday? Only if coach Eric Mangini resigned after a loss.

I think my Fish may be the only team to have teams that have both been undefeated and no wins in a season. They truly suck ass.

If you say so. I say they sucked it up...again.

Quoting Falcon84 (Thread starter):

At least I got some points from someone in the game for my fairy tale football team.  Wink

They'll get Jamal Lewis back in two weeks against STL,

Back? Where did he go? Did he get busted for shoplifting again? Or was it drug charges again. Sorry you get to have such a wonderful ghetto thug on your team. If it wasn't for football he'd be nothing more than a petty criminal down here in ATL.

Jesus, why don't you find out the scoop before starting such crap, DG? He suffered a foot injury on his first carry from scrimmage against the Pats last week. With a bye week coming up this week, and playing the Fins, it was felt he could take the two weeks off, and get 100% healthy for the season.

As for your comments, he's been a solid team leader since coming over, and has been a good influence on the locker room. Everyone's allowed a mistake in their lives, DG. He did his time, he moved on, and he's been doing a great job for the Browns this year.

Sheesh!

He's had more than one going back to his high school days here in ATL hence my reference to the shoplifting. I just don't like the guy because he has always had that spoiled athlete attitude about him.

Maybe time in the pokey changed him. I don't know. I just have memories of him in HS and then college at Tennessee and his attitude and behavior then.

Congrats on the win at the expense of the Fish. At least someone's winning these days.

I was at the game today, and i gotta tell ya it was a Blast!

The offense is very good.... and the defense is terrible... to say the least.

Hopefully, the Browns can improve the defense during the Bye-week.

GO BROWNS!

Nice to see the Saints play the game they're capable of, beating the Seahawks on the road 28-17.....Brees spread the ball around, took a number of shots downfield, the defense stepped up when they needed to, and the special teams had a couple of big plays. Hopefully, in the mess that is the NFC South, the Saints can use tonights game as a starting point towards a run to the division title.

He's a thug as well and it sets a poor example that we would sign him. Hopefully we stick with Ronnie Brown and don't let that dumbass hesher Ricky Williams back into the mix.

I miss the days of Marino and the more classy players.

I'm curious to see if Miami can pull a repeat of that upset a few years back and beat the Pats next week...

God I hope so. I'll be happy if we can just get them to trot their punter out on the field three times.
