i hate christmas about as much as i hate children.
The difference between you and me is that I actually love kids, but only those old enough to have developed a sense of humor (above, say, the age of 7-8). As for the diaper-filling, screaming, Stuey Griffin-like obnoxious worms, Santa can put them all in his bag and take them to the North Pole as far as I'm concerned.
i'm not angry. i just hate christmas. i'd almost rather have two easters (talk about a real borin' flippin' holiday) at least you can go golf on easter.

ok, i dont hate all children, because BHMBAGLOCK's kids are darling and were very well mannered ... but let's just say last night ... me ... in the theater ... second act started ... 12 year old sitting behind me with a *bag* of chips ... about the third song ... i snapped around and had something to quip about it ... won't go into further details because i can hear all the naysayers coming out now saying what a heartless bastard i am ... *but* those around me thanked me for getting her to stop making all the noise.

Isn't Christmas cancelled this year?
I thought that due to a fear of offending other religions and to therefore be politically correct, we will only be celebrating every other religion during the year. No Christmas trees will be erected and if anyone should happen to nibble on that chocolate Jesus, the blasphemors will be crucified....oh wait, we can't use that word either.
Incidentally, those who do not celebrate Christmas, should be the only ones working over the celebratory holidays!

I'm waiting for the 50 hysterical 'War on Christmas' posts, the likes of which 808TWA has foreshadowed above, as people who desperately, deeply want a ton of 'political correctness' to be indignant at gleefully dig in.

Oh, I should have clarified......I love Christmas especially time spent with family and friends. (previous post was tongue in cheek).
On the downside I have to say that the true meaning of the celebration is overshadowed by the commercial side of things. We should go back to the basics of enjoying the time with those we love and being grateful for what we have.

Can we see the mugshot again after you were slapped around a bit by the cops after throwing a chair at the kid like at the Cher concert?
Quoting FLYB6JETS (Reply 7): I'm looking forward to it because my wife and I will be celebrating our first Christmas together.
So you met this girl, dated, engaged, and married all in less than a year? You guys weren't dating last Christmas?
Quoting STLGph (Reply 19): Christmas trees next to pumpkins. Such rubbish.
I for one love Christmas. It is my favorite of all holidays. It's just such a "happy" time for me. However, I can't stand when Christmas stuff starts going up before it's even Halloween, let alone Thanksgiving.

Well I for one am very much looking forward to Christmas for the following reasons:
1. It means I am getting out of the Gulf (Saudi/UAE) and going home!! And on BA in J for free to boot.
2. Spending time with parents and family and my Beagle all of whom I haven't seen in a long time
3. I like the holiday atmosphere and the feeling in the air
That said, I acknowledge that Christmas is probably one of the most boring days of the year, save for New Year's day...but at least then you wake up with a hangover. Also agree that it is highly commercialized, especially in the United States, but for me that doesn't detract too much from it.
In fact we also celebrate Christmas in January since my mother's side of the family is Orthodox, but the big deal is the 25th. We only go to church and have dinner with family on the 6th.
