Anti-Islamization Protesters Left Bloodied with Beating with Iron Bars and Stabbing by Muslim thugs
By OnTheWeb Monday, October 29, 2007

by Adrian Morgan.
As I mentioned earlier a campaign has been mounted in Europe called Stop Islamisation of Europe. This group’s aim is self-evident - to oppose multicultural policies which have allowed Islamists to wield political influence, and the encroachment of Islam in Europe. They regard this spread of a potentially violent religion/ideology as a threat to the values which built Europe. They are not racist - their slogan is “Racism is the lowest form of human stupidity, but Islamophobia is the height of common sense.”

On the sixth anniversary of 9/11 this year, members of the group had tried to protest in Brussels. The politically correct mayor, Freddy Thielemans, was opposed to any event which could have inflamed Muslims in his city - a tacit admission that demonstrations of free speech - a basic European right - would be met with violence by the same Muslims he supports. He banned the demonstration. Several people still turned up, hoping to make their protest, but 154 people were arrested.

I guess free speech is losing out in the EU also.

How utterly pointless. The vast majority of Muslims are just happy going about their day to day lives, they don't want terror attacks and radicals giving their faith a treacherous name any more than we do. All this group will do is incite racial violence within the community... great!  Yeah sure

apprently not according to these right-wing xenophobic nutjobs. They seem to know Muslim better than one from the community. I dont talk about the Bible or Christians as a community like I'm one of their own either.

There is difference between free speech and inciting violence, BTW. I dont expect Neo-Nazi's to go thru a Jewish Neighborhood with the Swastika.

As did the hundreds of thousands of Muslims who turned out after a cartoon was printed.

I think that's a fair bit of an exaggeration to say that hundreds of thousands protested. It was helped by the media either, who aired some pretty selective coverage of the whole situation.

Complete and utter bullshit.

There was no demonstration in Brussels, nor any attempt at it. "SIOE" is a fringe Danish extremist group. The alleged "demonstration" and "attacks" happened in Copenhagen, and the only "proof" of it is a YouTube clip on their blog showing a guy telling the story.  Yeah sure The clip was filmed in a forest and the pics of "bleeding" people could have been shot anywhere and at any time. What a load of bullshit!

Wingnut, why did you post an "article" from an obscure right wing blog masquerading as a newspaper, which can't even correctly copy a hoax from another right-wing blog? Please include a disclaimer next time that what you're posting is a hoax. Thanks!

What a utter bunch of crap, clearly written by no-one even attempting to be taken seriously, and for whom objectivity is obviously a dirty word. The demonstration was banned because there were clear indications that several radical and violent groups (skinheads, neonazis and assorted thugs) would turn up, with the sole intent of causing a riot.

Oh, and those 154 arrested? You know what's funny? Even the SIOE itself actually agrees with those arrests on their official website. Those arrest were not made at the SIOE protest, but at a different square, where the extremist political party Vlaams Belang tried to abuse this 'demonstration' for its own purposes. SIOE obliged with the police, and was allowed to demonstrate. Vlaams Belang organised its own 'demonstration', without prior notice, and with the clear intention of getting arrested and making a big media circus of it. And they got what they wanted...

What a crappy position.

There is nothing wrong with Islam. Just prosecute law violators, not religions.

If Islam is causing terrorism, identify how, and imprison those responsible!

If Islam is abusing women, by all means, arrest the men involved.

If Islam is keeping girls out of school, then take her away from her abusive parents and give her a new family.

There's no reason to blame one's religion for one's crimes. Instead, just focus on crimes. Persecuting religions like Islam or Christianity will only antagonize and strengthen their resolve.

There are some 1 billion muslims out there, and there is NO way to "fight" them. Any effort to do so will be doomed. Just be friendly and enforce fair, secular laws.

Ah yes. The old "I'm not a racist, but..." opening gambit. Ermm, sorry folks, but yes you are. Hating an entire religion for the acts of a few extremists is exactly that, racist. Islam isn't the problem, extremism on BOTH sides is.

Guess you never heard about the Nazis who, in 1977, successfully won the right to march in Skokie, IL, then a predominantly Jewish suburb of Chicago. When the town argued that a proposed Nazi march would assault the sensibilities of its citizens and spark violence, it won a court injunction against the marchers. In response, the American Civil Liberties Union took the case and successfully defended the Nazis' right to free speech.

I checked out the blog of the SIOE, and it was pretty odd:

http://sioe.wordpress.com/

Alot of melodrama, and apparently muslims are coming to kill us all.  eek

When trying to justify the organization's existence they actually refer to the role of complacency towards ones enemies, and the fall of Babylon! I don't have a big problem with an organization like this, especially when the make themselves out to be nuts.

Cheers
