Hello!
I would like to know if you have already met someone face to face that you had met for the first time on airliners.net.
This nice thing happened to me 4 times, and one of them is now my best friend that i miss everytime is not in Paris...
Regards
Louis
By the way, thank you Johan, because without you, I would have certainly never known this friend!

I have meet many people from airliners.net all of them seem to be very nice. One of them is now a distributor for my dads company in AU. I doubt we would have ever of meet if it was not for this site.

I have met koolguy40, since we were in the same school, but totally different programs, though. He is a member of this forum, but he doesn't post here as often as I wish he would. While I'm an IT student, he was learning to be a chef. But we did meet and have fun checking each other's aviation photos. He's a pretty good guy to talk to. Unfortunately, he's moving to BC, but I hope it'll be somewhere in Greater Vancouver, as I go down there every once in a while to see my brother, who lives there.

I haven't, but I was supposed to meet someone I have been corresponding with in New York last week. We were supposed to spend the day at JFK, but he never phoned me at the place I was staying.

I met face to face with one guy from Airliners.net. Zach, I'm trading with him safety cards very often. We are living like 10 minutes driving from each other. Once he even went out to IAD to see me working on MetroJet ramp )
Also I will have visitors from Belgium this September. I will show them DCA, IAD, BWI and PHL if there is enough time )

I did meet somebody and we spent a very nice day at the airport. We are in contact now, email and see each other sometimes.
To the warning of Theahan: I think you can be carefull doing this: Perhaps phone before the meeting, on the phone you can hear a lot. Meet first at a public place like an airport or train station, if the person is not nice you can leave easily.

Hey Jeremiah
Yes, it is a good idea. Tell me when you are coming to ZRH, if you need I even have a guest room in my apartment. I always love to meet people and discuss about aviation or anything else. I think we would have a good contact. Age is not very important.
Kind regards
Philipp

Jeremiah: great, tell me when you are here. We could meet at the airport of course. I have a car, if you like I can take you to good spots at the end of the runways.

I met only one; AF Cabin Crew which BTW is a friend of yours AF-319. I had very little time because I was going on holiday that evening but had a great time meeting him. It was also very enjoyable to meet his colleagues (Air France B777 crew) at the Sheraton hotel.
I have no friends in my country who like aviation-most people think is crazy or unusual- so its always fun for me to meet people with your same interest.
As Jeremiah says, yes, but try to choose a neutral place- cafeteria, airport, etc. I have another friend who I didin´t meet throught this forum. I exchanged pictures for over a year and then he came for a spotting trip to South America. He is a Swissair MD11 co-pilot, from Geneve.

I've been corresponding with UAL_Bagsmasher on AIM for awhile now. I told him the times of my flights and that I'd be laying over at ORD there for a good 3 hours and asked if he was working. He replied that he was and that he'd find which gate the PVD left from (as there is just one or two PVD flights) and he'd meet me there if he got a chance.

I have met several people from Airliners.net. First I met AA777-200. He flew to ORD about a year and a half ago. He got us a tour of ORD Tower. That was awesome! He let me fly on his buddy passes and we flew to California a couple times on AA's new 738's. Very nice airplane I must say. Even though I work for the competition, we still talk to each other Oh did I mention Eagle cancelled 3 flights out of TOL today?
I have met FlyF15. We flew to LAX on my buddy pass and we did some spotting out there for a few hours. Now that he has a car...maybe I'll get to spot in DEN sometime
I met ATAL011-500, who used to work for TZ, but now works for HP.
I met Pilot1113 when he had a layover in ORD about a month ago.
I always talk on AIM w/ N4KHGirl, But havent haven't had the pleasure of meeting her yet.
