And so what if it 'may have killed' a few Afghans-- so is the nature of war. People get killed, even some innocents. If you have a problem with that, then you're on the wrong planet...

I can tell you from the inside that it was about to be a mass disaster pre Sept 11th. Punk wanted to close down more bases, cut the US Navy fleet, and cut the B1B Lancer force in half.
Then Sept 11th came around, and that idea went out the window.
Its so sad that it takes something that drastic to wake up and smell the coffee..

I didn't say that... I said hes the best SecDef since the last time he was SecDef (mid-80s, correct?).

Sounds like a scaled down version of Clinton's military plan. But, really, I do agree-- I was hoping the new administration would be pro-military (unlike the last), but unfortunately they don't like the two-war plan and don't like having a big military. Pisses me off.

El Celtro is out in the desert. Thank God I fly on C12's C9's to get there.. Its a hell of a drive. BTW, I see the Blue Angles everyday I am there this time of year, Its their winter home.
I am based there but spend most of the time in San Dawg...
San Clemente is off and on again, another wonderful place.

In war, accidents happen. It is a shame but it is the sad truth. If we relied less on local people for intelligence, we never would have attacked the place. There is still a lot of division in Afghanistan and lots of people who are trying to play the United States against each other.

What would you say if someone came to your town and kill your family. And a week later the same people come again an tell you: "Sorry, for killing your family. Now we know there were innocent. Here, take this 1000 $ and have an nice day."
Must be a real comfort.
I think, in a war of special forces such things should not happen.
