I haven't seen one posted, so I'll start it. One of my favorite games of the year- the 108th meeting of Army-Navy game, even though I have no care one way or the other who wins. Navy has one five straight, which ties the longest held streak by either team, and must be rough on the Army players who went their whole time at West Point without beating Navy. Navy is 7-4 and Army is 3-8, so I have to assume Navy is favored. Might be kind of nice to see Army pull this one of this year and break Navy's streak.

Game starts at 1200 PM eastern.

Of course, I'll root for the Army . . . (go figure right) . . . but don't really care who wins . . .

A good game is what is important.

Would be nice to see the Cadets put the Midshipmen in their place though - once . . .

The message you were about to post is too short and probably not of any higher value to the topic at hand. You should think long and hard before posting a message in this forum and make it detailed and a valuable addition to the topic discussed.

Avoid posting "Me Too" messages. These are messages that are posted by people who agree to a point being discussed and post a one liner, "me too!", "Good post Jim!", "I disagree" or similar message. This takes up time as readers must sort through these messages which have no real value to the group at large. Any message containing nothing more than a line or two of text is probably not worth posting.

If you have an opinion on a topic, you should in detail express why you have the opinion and what made you come to that conclusion.

Your post should be relevant to the topic discussed.

My dad was in the Army for two years. He would watch the game with passing interest rooting for Navy. He always had the Notre Dame games on, too, but never watched. But if we tried to change the channel during either, WHOO... there was hell to pay! I don't follow college football, anyway. I guess Civil War (Oregon/OSU) is this weekend, too. I will root for the team that scores the most points....

It's funny how Army sucks on the football field, but in reality, they're really great on the battlefield and that's what counts.
This game is over looks like.

Air Force and Navy both have successful football/sport programs (especially with the barriers they face), always wonder why Army was been so poor in the last 15 years or so. Heck, Coast Guard could beat Army at football. So much for Army strong..

Sorry, but my Alma mater's football team could probably not beat Army's freshman squad. If it was a varsity-varsity contest, it would be over by the end of the first quarter.

West Point is four times the size of CGA, and plays in NCAA Division I. CGA plays in a division so small you can't find the results in your average newspaper every Sunday.

Well, it was bad today. Last year was a slightly better game. It was closer than the score indicated in the first half with 14 of Navy's points coming from a punt return and an Army turnover deep in their own terroritory, but the second half was pretty much a blow-out.

Even though I don't really care one way or the other who wins each year, I really hope Army can win next year, as I have a friend who's a Junior at West Point now, and a loss next year would mean he will go all four years at West Point without beating Navy.  frown

Funny and the Navy is the opposite. Good on the football field, but in battle they perform well.....  Wink
