Just a quick question for you guys in holland. Going to Amsterdam for the first time on Monday and wondered whether or not smoking is permitted in public spaces, ie pubs, cafes etc?

It's less restricted as in Ireland; you can still smoke in most pubs and bars and coffeeshops. Restaurants are converting in advance to the 1 July 2008 rules. Most still have smoking sections. But all others, like shops, railway stations etc. and other public buildings are smoke free.I just come from a dinner meeting with Turkish clients Sad

, *cough* can't wait til it's next summer. Don't mean to stereotype about Turkish, they just happened to be all Turkish and all smokers.

nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?
