I thought maybe Bobby Petrino had second thoughts on Arkansas and went to Ann Arbor...

Not the only one thinking that. Maybe he'll change his mind and go to WV instead.......

Is he going to bring that gimmick-laden offense to Ann Arbor, or will he adapt to a pro-style attack?

With the $4 million dollar buy-out, on top of the basketball coach earlier is Michigan funding the athletic department at West Virginia or is WVU going to become Michigan-East?

If he can recruit some fast players then that so-called gimmick offense will work wonders against the slow ass corn-fed boys of the Big10/11. The rest of the league would be playing catchup for a couple of years if he can strike quickly.

Well recruiting some fast players will take time, so unless the other teams of the Big 10 get caught completely flat-footed, then it won't be much of a surprise.

We've probably seen the last of Michigan producing NFL-ready QBs, which I have no complaints about.

With the underachieving and failure to win the big games late in the season the last few years, Rodriguez seems like a perfect fit for Michigan.  bigthumbsup

It's pretty lame that he contacted Pryor before he resigned from his WVU job. I'm sure West Virginia loves the fact that he called a top recruit who he was talking to about going to WVU and told him to go to his new school. So does Pryor think everything he told him about WVU was BS?

Not lame in the slightest, from a UM perspective anyhow.  Smile In fact it was very smart. Pryor wasn't going to WVU without RR there, common sense should tell you that. (WVU is officially off his list now)

I think the #1 recruit in the country deserves to be told that his #1 school wont have the same coach. Whether or not he will goto UM, I'm sure we will find out soon.

I agree with you, Pryor should have been told that RR was leaving, if RR had made any commitments/promises to him regarding his tenure at WVU. But what would be inappropriate in my opinion is if RR implied to UM that he could get Pryor to come to UM if he was hired as their coach.

How is Double R any different than Bobby Petrino? I mean didn't he accept a job at Alabama (although he "denied" it) only to then return to West Virginia. Now he is bolting again to Michigan...I think its a good move for Michigan, but what is the purpose of a contract if coaches can screw out of them on a whim?

The WVU and Arkansas debacles prompt the following question. Why should any future Arkansas or Michigan recruit believe a single thing they are told? Both Petrino and Rodriguez are scum - Petrino for bailing out on his team with three games left in the season, and Rodriguez for stiffing his players before their upcoming bowl game.

So much for integrity.

In all fairness to RR he isn't even in the same ballpark of scum that Petrino inhabits on his own. He's a dick for leaving early especially since Carr is coaching the Citrus Bowl but whatever floats his boat.

I have no idea how these contracts work, there HAS TO BE some small print in there that allows this sort of thing, it just happens way to much. On another note, he (well, Michigan) is paying his buyout of 4 mil. 2 mil up front and the other 2 mil by 2011.

RR has some ties to UM as well. Don Nehlan was a coach under Bo in the late 70's, Nehlan coached RR at WVU and is his mentor. Im sure he gave him some advice.

They are the same flavor of scum. They both walked out on their teams before the season ended.

I can't believe RR would walk out on us before a big bowl game for us. He made it so as if he was extremely loyal to us, and then he went behind our backs. Scum, I say, he is scum. I know if he ever comes back to WVU for some reason, every student here has made it apparent that he is not welcome anymore. I bet he made us loose to Pitt just so he had a reason to bail on us. Man, what a piece of shit.

Well, all I can say is LETS GOOOOO MOUNTAINEERS. We need to overcome this and win over the spoon...i mean....sooners.
