So how would they call "A Christmas Carol" then? A Generic Carol? Three Ghosts Visiting Ebeneezer Scrooge On The Night Between December 24th And 25?

This is more PC bullshit. Nobody has complained about this time of year being known as Christmas, and yet the PC brigade makes things worse than they already are.  Yeah sure

What is this then, Mardi Gras in New Orleans?  confused

You know what is screwing up America? It's pieces of s**T @$$holes like these anti-Judeo-Christian blagard degenerates!!

They're the same pieces of garbage who want "God" out of every US Document pretty much, including our currency and pledge of allegence: "In God We Trust," and "One Nation, UNDER GOD..."

If my school did that, I would change schools...  grumpy

MERRY CHRISTMAS!  santahat

Surprised anyone actually cares this much. Go ahead and send some hate-mail while you're at it... I mean, if you truly believe that the teacher and the principal here are "pieces of shit assholes," why don't you let 'em know your sentiments?

Just because they don't want to include your religion doesn't mean their against it. Having some diversity in a public school isn't always a bad thing, you know.

Um, wouldn't that be removing diversity? "I'm offended by your religion so you can't make any reference to them at school!" Yea, sounds like diversity to me.....not.  sarcastic  Christianity is one of the many slices in the pie that defines "diversity". Granted, you can try to make the argument "well, Christianity is the majority religion in the West", but diversity and toleration and learning to get along is as much about the minorties toleration of the majority as it is vise-versa.

What's the point? All public government schools have gone down the drain the last twenty or thirty years. What good it going to do? You'd be hard pressed to find a teacher or member of a school districts administrative faculty these days that can get anything done! The only things they are interested in teaching kids these days are Political Correctness, feminism, "celebrating" diversity, anti-Captilism/socialism, pro-gay BS, and above all being good little liberals! And that's when teachers aren't busy trying to discipline students.(they spend more time doing that then anything else) They don't teach math skills because they say you can use a calculator. Spelling isn't that important either they'll tell you because people can use spell check these days or just trying to sound it out. And you'd be lucky if 1/4 of students could identify all seven continents and the oceans on a map! Ask kids when did World War 2 take place and perhaps a handful will know that it was in the twentieth century.... sometime.

School's have been outlawing things like the world "Christmas" in carols for years. When was the last time you heard of a school have a Christmas Concert? These days it's a Holiday Concert! God-forbid they offend anybody! No more Christmas parties in school either! That might be offensive, even though the majority celebrates Christmas and has for the last several hundred years. But guess what? If Little Mohammad the Muslim or Jimmy the Jew wanted to share their customs and traditions during their holidays with their classroom, you can bet your ass your son or daughters 3rd grade class can and will have a Ramadan or Hanukkah party without question! It's absurd!

Give your kids a chance, send them to private school at all costs! I can't believe the improvement in general knowledge and common sense when I talk to some kid thats been educated in a private school vs. public. They even still teach morals and values in private school too, if you can believe that! The only value they teach in public schools these days is the liberal/secular value of making no judgments about anybody else based on their personal behavior. Anything goes these days! If your son's feeling gay, then that's just great! He can join the gay club that meets at 7th period, learn that's it's perfectly normal and then everybody can celebrate his diversity! Want to use the world Christmas though, you might just have problems at your neighborhood public school! And in ten years, maybe even a two day suspension? I know things have changed just in 15 years, I dread to see things in another ten.

We had a Hanukkah party at my private school 2 days ago...  frown
Then I asked if we could have a Christmas party... we didn't have a Christmas party.

I think you are absolutely correct here, I couldn't stand Public school. In Ontario during the last election my local public school had a banner from the Teacher's Union pretty much advertising the Liberals.

Well, I know here in Ontario things have changed "for the worst"...... Christmas is just that...Christmas -- but our government has a-holes running it. If an ethnic group complains, instantly there has to be a change "as to not offend anyone"...well this is CANADA and if these people don't want to celebrate the way we do then they shouldn't bother.

Just my 2 cents!!!

When my ex and myself still thought about moving to Ireland (I was already working there, but wanted my family to follow me), we visited schools in Shannon, Co. Clare to check about schooling for my ex's children. It turned out that all schools in the are were run by one church or another and the first question was "Are your children Catholic or Protestant?", upon which we answered "Neither, they got raised as moderate Muslims" (While I'm an atheist, my ex, who came from Sierra Leone, West Africa, was raised as a Muslim, though later she turned to become a rabid born-again Christian, one reasons for our divorce). The principals usually told us that they didn't really like students of other religions than the one running the particular school, to enroll.
This was in 1998.
BTW, we celebrated Christmas in our family, as a family celebration, without the religious background.
