If wolves are posted as being in the area perhaps carrying a gun might be in order?

I would think that carrying a pistol on your belt in plain view in Alaska wouldn't raise so much as an eyebrow, especially if away from buildings and such. If not a gun, then certainly one of the big cans of pepper spay made for bears.

Down here in gulf coast Texas, if the park has signs posted that alligators are in the water, you know not to let your dog get near the edge.
