How much snow has your city or town got this winter so far? Here on Long Island (NY) there hasn't been a winter, so far we got less than 3 inches of snow. And it hasn't really been that cold either. We only had 2 cold snaps where the temperature has only been in the teens and twenties. And the only lasted for 2 or 3 days at most.

So how has the winter been in your city or town so far?

For the NY area...not much. I am very dissapointed because we were seeing snow in mid December which I thought would give way to January but it seems to be extremely cold when it is sunny and warmer when precipiation comes.

About an inch. We had a light dusting about two weeks ago, then go an inch three days later (Some areas in Metro Atlanta got around 2"). That snow pretty much melted after the snow stopped, as the ground was still a bit warm.

Off hand I don't know exactly how much snow we have received so far this winter. We have only had a couple snow falls that left anything.....but we are apparently going to get a huge storm tonight and into tomorrow.

Bring it on..........I love the snow!!!

Calgary didn't see much snow this winter until about 5-6 days ago when it just started blizzarding.

In total, probably about 50cm or so from our first snowfall in late November to now.

Phyllis, that looks really nice. Which reaffirms my belief that snow is great to look at and play in for a few days. But royally sucks if you have to live in it day to day. I am soooo glad to no longer be living in a part of the country where snow is measured by the food.

And to answer the OPs question. 3" about 2 weeks ago. With a few dustings to 1" before that.

Wow! Those pics are quite breathtaking!!

As for me down in Lancaster, we don't have that much snow. I would guess maybe around 10 inches at best, but that might be stretching it. The heaviest snow we received all season was a 1-3 inch snowfall...

None here yet for 2008 in Birmingham, UK, but I think we have a lot on the way. I spoke to family on the phone in mid Wales - about 100 miles west of here, and they had a good few inches with more coming tomorrow and Saturday. Bad news really, as they have to get out of mid Wales on Saturday and pick me up to go to a wedding, which won't happen if the roads are closed.

At sea level where I live -- about 20 cm on the ground right now.

Behind my house and up at the 4000 ft. top of Mt. Seymour (a 15 minute drive) -- about 500 cm and counting.

Oops -- should have checked first. Mt. Seymour has 669 cm. (22 ft.), more forecast for weekend.

Last I heard, were at about 60 inches so far. I like the snow, but I'm getting sick of the constant frigid temps. I got spoiled spending last winter in Texas.
