Ok this is probably old news. http://seattle.mariners.mlb.com/news...7273&vkey=news_sea&fext=.jsp&c_id=

After a deadlock in the trade rumor It looks like Orioles Ace pitcher Bedard is heading to Seattle in exchange for Mariners lefty set up pitcher George Sherill and Outfielder Adam Jones and three pitching prospects. Of course it's not official yet but close. http://seattle.mariners.mlb.com/news...4&vkey=news_sea&fext=.jsp&c_id=sea

I'm on the fence about this trade I wonder especially from the Mariners fans will this help Seattle or Help Baltimore more, and who is getting fleeced in this deal if it happens which it looks like t's going to happen.

From the Orioles fans how did Bedard measure up? Do you think he'll be a great addition to Felix Hernandez?

Bedard will give Seattle a formidable rotation, however they probably won't have enough offense to will the division. Maybe they can hang for a while in the Wild Card race, but I'm not sold on that.

For the Orioles, they got their guy in Adam Jones. Almost a can't miss prospect in Center. The trade should work out for both teams, as long as Bedard keeps pitching up to the hype!

I think the Birds are (again) in rebuild mode. the problem, of course, has been owner Angelos stepping on his own dick and second-guessing the front office basaball people. Time will tell if Andy MacPhail can make it work.

Growing up in the 60s and 70s, I always remember Baltimore as a very strong organization. Their teams were always near the top. Nowadays, they are so bad - and have lost attention in the DC/Baltimore area to the Nationals. I hope for the true fans of the Orioles that they are on the right track.

Maggs swings, it's a drive deep to left! The Tigers are going to the World Series!!!

From what I have read, Pinko Pete Angelos is staying pretty much out of the way of Andy MacPhail and letting him actually general manage. I think Orioles fans have to be prepared to write off the next two years at least, but with all the new talent that are getting by trading good players they won't sign now, they will have a very good young nucleus heading into 2010. I know nobody wants to hear that about their team, but it could be worse. They could be the Pirates.

Yeah, the Angels will take it. Seattle might contend for the Wild card.

Well if you havent hard Bedard is Officially a Mariner. If you were watching the press conference Bavasi mentioned they could go to a decent 5 man rotation and you have Bed and Felix as a 1 2 punch.

I don't doubt Bedard will keep pitching well, but he has never tossed 200 innings and will still need run support.

Their rotation will be ok, but they don't have much beyond Bedard and Felix. Silva is incredibly overrated and Washburn is Washed up.

You are kidding, right? The Angels may have the best rotation in baseball, and certainly have the best in the division. The also have one of the best bullpens in baseball and the offensive disparity is laughably huge.

That may or may not be true, but the Angels still have 5 proven starters in the rotation with him hurt.
