Thought I'd try for a little change of pace, this is a thread about YOUR golf game. Don't care about the pros. I want to see who's got game! Include whatever you'd like us to know about your golf

Clubs:
Driver- Taylor Made r7 Quad 9.5 degree S flex
3 Wood- Cleveland Launcher 15 degree S flex
Hybrids- Taylor Made Dual TP's 19 and 22 degrees S flex
Irons- Taylor Made x-300 FCI X-Stiff flex
Wedeges- Titleist Vokey 52 and 56 degrees
Putter- Scotty Cameron Pro Platinum Newport 2

Game:
Used to be a LONG bomber. Longest drive ever was 380 yards. But then I lost 50 pounds due to illness and all of a sudden 270 is a reach! haha! 1 Hole-in-one in my life so I die happy. Approx. 7 handicap

That's all I've got for now. Would love to see who else is a fanatic out there

Doin' just fine thanks...

Yep, shot an 82 at Rancho San Joaquin in Irvine yesterday

Driver - Taylor Made Burner TP, 9.5 deg. S flex 65 gram shaft
3 wood - Taylor Made Burner steel, 15 deg, S flex 50 gram shaft
Fairway wood - Cleveland Launcher steel, 19 deg., S flex 77 gram shaft
Irons - 3-PW Mizuno MX-23 Grain Flow forged heads, True Temper Dynamic Gold SL S300 shafts, length increased 1.25 inches and lie angle changed 3 degrees flat for my height.
Wedge- Taylor Made RAC 56 deg. Black
Putter - RAM FX3 Series 1
Balls - Titleist Pro V1

Hitting about 270 and can place it where I want it off the tee, same with the rest of my clubs - my accuracy is improving game by game.

I have a $35 set of Wilson clubs I found at a Pawn Shop a few years ago. They work just fine for my shitty golf game. The only decent thing I have, besides the golf bag, is the Odyssey putter. My handicap you ask? Hell if I know. How about...er....oh...20? Big grin

Driver - Taylormade 320 8,5 degree stiff
3+ wood - Callaway steelhead stiff
5 wood - Taylormade firesole stiff
3-PW - Taylormade LCG iron shafts (9 iron is a TM firesole)
56 + 60 Cleveland something
Putter - Odyssey two ball

Normally land around 300 on the drives, but unfortunetly I didn't have a lot of spare time to play a lot last year. My irons are probably 10 years old now but I still love them to death, except for my 9 iron which now resides in the water hazard on the third hole at Pine Barrens, World Woods in Florida due to a damp grip one early morning a few years ago.
Handicap 13

No Driver, I sold my TM R7 cause the shaft sucked. Decent trajectory but no pop at the bottom. Will get a new one in April. While I am in the desert I will not miss it. The fairways here are literally 15 yards wide.

3 wood Sonartec NP 14 Degree Stiff (Best fairway woods made)

Hyrbird Sonortec 19 Degree stiff (also the best out there)

Mizuno MX23 Irons 4-P S300 Stiff One inch longer than standard.

Cleveland 900 50 and 54 Degree wedges. Low bounce. Gun metal finish

Cleveland 580 60 Degree Lob wedge. Gun metal finish.

Ping Anser II putter.

Only ball I play is Titleist Prov x.

Became a much better player when I learned to practice from 60 yards in. No matter how good or bad you hit it your going to hit the same number of greens. Got to learn to putt and chip and save from the sand. That alone took 5 strokes away. Want to be a good player you have avg in the 32 putt or better range. I spend 90% of my practice time on the putting green now. The best junior players I see are always chipping and putting constantly.

There was a thread about golf no too long ago. I played golf in high school and college. I grew up on a golf course in Newport Beach and also Houston. As a little kid, I'd fish golf balls out of the lake on #17 green and hit them off the tee box #18 right behind my backyard. I grew up loving golf as a sport.

My weapons:

  • Dirty old Callaway Bertha with steel shaft.
  • Callaway Steelhead 2 wood.
  • Ping i3 blades, 1 degree up, rifle 6.0 shafts, golf pride grips.
  • Cobra Trusty Rusty 57 degree wedge.
  • Cobra Trusty Rusty 61 degree wedge.
  • Scotty Cameron Sante Fe (Gun metal blue finish) putter.
  • Ping Hoofer 2 bag with my college logos.

Anyone getting to AUS that loves golf, let me know, I play all over the city - private and public courses.

I always root against Tiger.  yes

Anyone see Phil make an 11 today at Pebble?  rotfl

I have a hodge podge in my bag,

An informercial purchase for a driver - the King Kong driver. Don't laugh, I do get 300+ yard drives with it, but not like I used to.
Fairway Woods - a 3,5,& 7 from Nickent.
Irons are older Spalding Premier Executives that I've had for years.
A Spalding sand wedge, one of those "escape clubs".
Putter is "the heavy putter".

Irons- Ben Hogan Apex
Wedeges- Ben Hogan 5208 52° and Purespin 60°
Putter- Odyssey Rossie II

Game:
Fairly long hitter, usually hit my drives over 300 yds...

After taking a 2 year break, I really need to buy a new driver!!! probably the only club in my bag that I really want to replace...the others I really like! specially my 3 woods!! I might also look into buying a 56° wedge...

Probably a handicap 5 at the moment...although last week I shot a 2 over round after a double bogey in the last hole!!!! what a way to screw up a round!!

Clubs:

Driver - Taylor Made R510 Tour Preferred. 9,5 degrees loft and Fujikura Speeder Shaft

1 iron - Ping Eye
3-PW - Mizuno MP 37 blades, with steel shafts
Sand Wedge - an old and round Tommy Armour
Odissey putter
Ping bag
Pro V1x balls

Game : the typical iron player. I can hit a 1 iron off the ground but rarely feel natural with my driver, despite easily hitting it over 300 yds. Sometimes I´m all over the place. H´cap 7.

Cheers

Clubs:
Driver - Big Bertha VFT driver
Irons(3-pw)- have several sets, currently hitting Tommy Armour 845 silver scotts (about 15 years old).
Wedges- Titliest vokey design 54 and 60 degree
Putter- very old Ping answer putter (only putter I can use).

Game:
In high school and college I was 5 handicap golfer. In high school I played golf everyday during the summer's at our country club, and several times a week during college. Played so much that I didn't enjoy the game anymore, took about 18 months off without swinging a club. Today, I am about a 12 handicap golfer. Average drive is around 300 yards with a very slight draw. Plan on getting the handicap down to single digits this year.

Best round was a 67 on a par 72 when I was 17 years old.

Fairway Wood - Cleveland Launcher (4W 17°)
Fairway Wood - Titleist 975F (20.5°)
Irons - TaylorMade rac OS2 (4 - PW)
Gap Wedge - TaylorMade rac Satin (52°)
Sand Wedge - TaylorMade rac Black (58°, 8° bounce)
Putter - Odyssey White Hot #2 (center shaft)

* Broke the shaft of my Titleist 975J driver when I drove my cart without securing the bag strap.

Game: None. But you gotta look good if you're a 20+ handicapper. Big grin

I'm currently playing about 3 times a week. Drive is around the 290 mark and fairly consistent, but I have a hard time judging cross wings accurately My short game is where I hurt the most; I'm okay on my short irons, somewhat inconsistent, but getting better, but putts greater than 10 feet or so I am struggling with.

My gear...

Driver - Callaway Fusion FT-5, 10° (just got this a few weeks ago, really nice driver)
Woods - Tour Edge CB2's - 3,5,7
Irons - Taylormade R7's, 4 through PW, SW.
Putter - Odyssey 2-Ball. Was a gift and I don't like it; will replace it soon. Possibly with a Cleveland VP2.
Balls - Nike Mojo.
Bag - Wilson Lizard.

How do you like the Burner TP? I am really really considering that driver. I've hit a few times and fell in love but haven't taken one to the course.

I like it, I can use my height and arms to get a faster clubhead speed without jeopardizing control. 1 deg. open face provides great alignment and accuracy, you actually will hit what you aim for.
