Saturday or Sunday works for me.

Let's make it special. This will be the first Airliners.net gathering since 9/11.

Superfly, which Sat. Sun. the one tomorrow or next week? Also let's see if SFOintern can help us out. Also can we go into say the International Terminal but not the gate areas, or is it that we absolutely cannot go past the security checkpoints? Well I am game for anytime as I have the week off so it is up to you guys. Monday the 18th however will not work for me but any other day is fine.

Serge, is it possible for you to switch the part in Chinatown to Sunday? Otherwise Sunday would work fine for me, just that for some reason I like Saturday better, guess it is not as close to the work week!

Also let's try and get in contact with SFOintern as I think he could help. Also Superfly do you have any plans on where we should meet and where to go?

Mrman_3k:
As you may already know, parking at SFO is very expensive. Best thing to do is either meet at the Milbrae CalTrain station ($1) parking and free shuttle to airport or meet at the park on Airport Bl. near the Hilton & Doubletree hotels across the water from the airport.
If SFOintern or DeltaSFO could help us out would be great.  Smile

So basically we actually cannot go into the terminals, but we can go to the vista area that has a good view of Runways 1L/R.

Also, where is SFOintern or DeltaSFO?

Isn't there a free parking lot next to runways 1L/R? Also a good viewing area.

ILUV767 or SFOIntern would be a good source of information. They know SFO pretty well.

Ya, I have not been to SFO since 9/11 so I do not know where we can and cannot go. Hopefully we can get into the international terminal.

What?!?!

Am I not loved? The one who's held an airline job at the airport the longest out of any of you? (Still holding that is, passing the 6 month mark in two weeks)

DeltaSFO is now working for Delta in PDX, so that's no help whatsoever. SFOintern is just... I don't know... not around?  Smile

The best days for me would be the days I work, as it's a long ways from my house to the airport. But, luckily, I work Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon! Only Sun I don't get to the airport until 2:30 (for a 4pm start) because I have prior commitments. Saturday would work best for me...

Only ticketed passenger or those with SIDA badges (meaning: me Big grin) are allowed into the sterile concourses now, that is true. That's really too bad though... if someone wants to go contact SFO and arrange security passes or something like that (if an escort is needed I can provide that service since I have a SIDA badge), I'd be happy to do that. But I'm not going to contact them, it's not my job  Big grin

Superfly, SFOintern and myself have semi-talked and we are thinking about Sunday the 24th, I was thinking that we should meet at about 1:30pm on Sunday the 24th. OH-LGA, how do I contact SFO? I was thinking that we should meet outside of the Sheraton (I think it is that hotel) I am trying to confirm this since they have a nice viewing area. If any of you have any information please post it or email me at mrman_3k@msn.com.

Superfly,
I won't be around SFO or anything but figured you'd read this thread.
I was just surprised that you haven't noted that AgnusBymaster's 1 year anniversary on A.net is tomorrow. You usually are wishing the ladies well on their birthday's etc. I'd kinda like to read the thread!

Does anyone know which Hotel would provide the best view of the planes landing on 28L/R? I am trying to confirm if it is the Sheraton but am having problems.

Well most likely we cannot get a tour, but I will give them a call. Also the hotel is Embassy Suites, the address is

150 Anza Blvd.
Burlingame, CA 94010

Here is an aerial photo of it from Mapquest, I have been here and it has a nice viewing area of planes landing on the 28's. Anyway here is the link:

http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?mapdata=xU4YXdELrnAPHHs%252fEbw7yFZi4%252ftd2aiPbhVktjaPRtb23Z80LUu5VmycpdA%252f0XyHQctOU2qwU60TzX0fXodDYLdEgrzQjdGHpVhfg7Bht90VRcOfi%252fAyQExinGqKMwU2DXTiaW6qhNR9dKvGR5RrPQljSQkChLSjlkoBitmp2yrrAU1BzQEH2HlLn%252fJtrvIbmcnfBvWxtJ%252fA0mFYwGL%252fujhHJOw7CuE08GJ5co9rmNaOv4IKf78OTtG6%252bl0CWfn8cEePvDCjtCdSRRlSz0uam31fGrpaEROIOQtYvdmiJYRaCFBUnQUhU6G5hkNxggdl1xG98vWcXPzezLWOZb96wYjndN1zjvhIE3hhWm3jQtNJDkrguGWw4A%253d%253d&click=center&map.x=362&map.y=178

The building in the center is the hotel and the green area by the Bay is a nice small "park" where we can sit/stand and watch the planes land. If I can get a tour of SFO, then we will definetley do that. Also Superfly can you contact whoever you know that would like to come, I think Ben Wang might want to come, as he came to the other meeting that you guys did a while back.

You need to tell those bosses at SFO that we are special because we are Airliners.net members and we are 'experts'! Big grin
